— North Carolina State University announced on Wednesday that it has added a future non-conference football home-and-home series with Big 12 opponent West Virginia.

In 2018, the Mountaineers will travel to Carter-Finley Stadium, while the Wolfpack will travel to Morgantown for a 2019 matchup.

N.C. State has faced West Virginia 10 times in program history, with the series tied at 5-5. The last meeting was in the 2010 Champs Sports Bowl, when quarterback Russell Wilson led the Wolfpack to a 23-7 win over the No. 22 Mountaineers. The squads also met in the 1972 Peach Bowl, which NC State won 49-13, and the 1975 Peach Bowl - a 13-10 WVU win.

The teams have not played on either's home field since 1979, when the Wolfpack enjoyed a 38-13 victory in Morgantown. N.C. State has won the last three meetings and four of the last five.

The series with the Mountaineers is the second major series added by the Wolfpack in recent weeks. N.C. State recently announced a home-and-home series with Mississippi State of the SEC for 2020 and 2021.

Glad to see it. I attended the 2010, 1975, and 1972 games. Glad to see the scheduling of teams like WVU and Missippi State.

Just don't go to Morgantown( WVU ).
"Obnoxious" is TOO nice a word.

These teams are much better than the "mickey mouse" non-conference games State has this year. What an insult to season ticket holders to have GA Southern, Old Dominion and Presbyterian the same year!

kudos to the Pack. Those are very reasonable additions. Can't stand it when 'average' teams want to tout the fact that they added the likes of Alabama, LSU, Oklahoma, or another power house. At the end of the day all it does is reinforce your place close to the college football median.....and that's best-case. At least they'll be playing comparable teams though, at last!

Then don't buy season tickets. Easy enough.

Why wouldn't they tout it? Playing against the best trains your players.

Me too and I also was at the three bowl games. I forgot which, but one of the Peach Bowls was in a downpour. We were lucky to be under the overhang in the old Atlanta Stadium.

Georgia Southern? Let's see now, didn't they beat a big name just last year? Oh yeah, Florida.

I just hope they actually play these series. How many scheduled series end up getting dropped or bought out?

These series will be cancelled and replaced with South Alabama or maybe A Georgia Southern..
