NC State center Vandenberg out 4-6 weeks with ankle injury

Posted November 1, 2013

— North Carolina State University announced on Friday that center Jordan Vandenberg, who was injured in the first half of Wednesday's exhibition win over UNC-Pembroke, will miss four to six weeks.

The senior from Melbourne, Australia, suffered a grade three sprain of his left ankle, the school said in a release.

Vandenberg scored four points in Wednesday's win before injuring his ankle at the 14:59 mark of the first half.

The Wolfpack host Morehouse for a second exhibition game at 5 p.m. on Saturday at PNC Arena. The regular season schedule starts Nov. 8 against Appalachian State.

Hard to lose a talent like this. This is going to be a major blow to our championship hopes this year.

Good Luck Jordan - get well.

Vandenberg seems a bit fragile. This isn't that unusual for a very tall man who isn't very athletic. At best, State was going to get 5-6 minutes a game from him. That may not sound like much, but with Anya reporting to camp disguised as the Goodyear blimp, the remaining 7 scholarship players are going to need relief occasionally. Does State have any walkons who might contribute?

Get well soon. You should be back for in early to mid-December so you can be in shape for the ACC play starting the 1st week of January. Should be in outstanding shape to beat Carolina!!!

    go pack!!

It's okay, try not to worry yourself too much. There's always another scrub available to play his 3 mins per game allowance.

    Go Donkey!
