NC State extends Yow's contract

Posted November 16, 2012

— Debbie Yow got an early Christmas bonus Friday when the North Carolina State University Board of Trustees extended the director of athletics' contract and added $50,000 and some bonus opportunities to her compensation package.

Yow's compensation – $354,000 in salary plus $150,000 in supplemental compensation – puts her sixth out of 12 of her ACC peers. Her contract now takes her through June 2017.

Since her hire in 2010, NC State has jumped 52 spots, from 89 to 37, in the Directors' Cup standings and created an athletic hall of fame. Yow has replaced the men's basketball coach and seen the team advance to the Sweet Sixteen.

“Under Debbie’s outstanding leadership, NC State is experiencing a transformation of our athletics program and achieving new levels of success in competition and in the classroom,” said Chancellor Randy Woodson. “NC State is fortunate to have such a passionate leader who is truly dedicated to the athletic success of our teams and academic success of our student athletes.”

...If only they could come up with a better football team, you loser

Debbie Yow is continuing the excellence that her beloved sister started at State. The Yow sisters have done wonderful things for NC State, and I'm glad they have both been appreciated.

If we only had enough money to pay our players, the way Duke does.

Now, about Yow...she has done a good job, I'd hope she will leave the football program alone and let TOB decide his own fate for the last year of his contract. That would be the right thing to do, as Otis said yesterday, its his staff that has failed him. Start with them before ya blame anyone else.

There is no need for that last comment, you act as if nothing has ever surfaced except at UNC...check yourself bozo because everything that glitters isn't always gold.

Just because UNC has spent millions in a failed attempt to cover up all their corruption doesn't mean everyone has to.
