NC State launches #Statement campaign

Posted August 8, 2014

Inside Carter Finley Stadium NC State

— With classes starting in less than two weeks and sports already on the minds of many in the Triangle, NC State launched its latest social media-friendly promotional campaign Friday -- #Statement.

Accompanied by a video featuring the student-athletes, NC State unveiled the slogan saying, “there's something very unique about being part of NC State, its tradition is unique and it's completely ours.”

The latest social media drive builds on what NC State athletics has been doing for the last two years. Game notes and media releases have frequently been filled with hashtags and promotable content. Last year, the school launched the #OurState campaign that was met with mixed reactions and even mocked by other schools.

The latest #Statement campaign asks other students around the campus, as well as alumni and fans, to engage with the hashtag in the “interactive concept that will infuse emotional connection and meaning.”

    Yow, your media campaigns SUCK!

    That's my #STATEment,

I couldn't believe it until I went to the MSU website earlier today. Where is the originality from Yow? I know that most State fans can't be happy with all of this stuff. This isn't good publicity. The door was just opened for more mockery.

I hope that Yow doesn't fall into a "STATE of panic." This has caused a "STATE of emergency" in Raleigh. Yow should make a "STATE of the Union" address to the Pack nation. The "State of Wolfpack athletics is in Jeopardy." I am only "STATE-ing" this in jest. :)

Another complete rip-off from a prior Mississippi State campaign. No surprise here...

Direct from MS State AGAIN!!! You really can't make this up. Can't they find another school to rip off instead of using the same one every time.

I am lumping in all these other ideas, like the UNC black and blue thing for the SDSU game this year, and the seemingly endless number of "special" uniforms, etc. Coaches tell us all the time that the kids and recruits really like this stuff.

Also a State fan and I have deleted a bunch of e-mails recently with the word Statement in the title because that is a typical word used in e-mail fraud. I think something different would have been better.
