NC State quarterback Manny Stocker to transfer

Posted November 27, 2013

NC State sophomore quarterback Manny Stocker plans to leave the program after this semester, his father told WRAL Wednesday.

Manny Stocker Sr said his son hopes to continue playing football but things didn’t work out at NC State after the coaching change from Tom O’Brien to Dave Doeren.

“In the beginning, he was told by the new staff that he would be competing for the job,” Stocker, Sr said. “But on the first day of summer camp, he got zero snaps. Coach Doeren wanted to redshirt Manny for him to develop but he didn’t even get many snaps on the scout team.”

The sophomore quarterback was more than willing to give up his redshirt season when Brandon Mitchell was injured in the first game.

“That wasn’t an option,” Manny Stocker Sr. explained. Four different quarterbacks have played for the Wolfpack this season. “We accepted the fact Manny didn’t get the position. But we don’t feel it was a fair process,” his father explained.

Stocker saw action in five games his freshman season, rushing for a season high 32 yards against Wake Forest.

This is OUR state....of complete incompetence,of complete lack of continuity, and complete delusional grandeur year after year. If only the stupid lineman would not have blown his whistle in the Clemson game, this may have been a different year. Carter Finley was rocking that night, like the good ole days of Rivers and Holt, Brown and Richter, Lowe and Whittenburg (eh, it's a blog...relax).

A win that night may have changed everything as Uncle Mo never returned the rest of the season. I truly believe that confidence begets confidence, and that ref' s whistle may have been the worst blown call of this entire season.

I never thought I would see the day that Duke plays one game against Carolina to go to the ACC Championship and NC State has one last chance to avoid a conference goose-egg! I hope Duke runs the table this year,'cause I respect Coach Cutcliffe. But next year the Pack will definitely be back!

THE PACK WILL WIN THE ACC BEFORE THE DECADE IS OUT, PROBABLY NEXT YEAR!!!

"When that day comes I shall futterwacken...vigorously."

And one more quote..."I don't measure a man's success by how he climbs but by how high he bounces when he hits bottom." GENERAL GEORGE S. PATTON

    Go Pack!

Mr. Stocker will not be the only one to leave the program this year. I wonder how many more will see the door? The Coaches and AD keep telling us wait until they get their recruits and system in place. In another words we will be bottom feeders for some time now.
