NC State’s CJ Leslie missed just three shots from the floor last week as he was named the ACC Player of the Week by the conference Monday.

Overshadowed by Richard Howell’s double-double in the Wolfpack’s win over Cleveland State Saturday, Leslie had 19 points in that game to lead all scorers. That performance came just four nights after Leslie posted a 16 and 13 double-double of his own to help NC State knock off Connecticut at Madison Square Garden. More Info     N.C. Leslie shot 80 percent from the floor (12-for-15) for the week and averaged a team-best 17.5 points per game while chipping in 10.5 rebounds.

Georgia Tech’s Marcus Georges-Hunt was named the conference’s Rookie of the Week for the second time this season after averaging 14 points and 5.5 rebounds in two Yellow Jackets wins.

Duke sophomore Elizabeth Williams was named ACC Player of the Week on the women’s side. Williams averaged 20.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, 5.5 blocks and 1.5 assists on the week in two Blue Devil wins.

Maryland’s Tierney Pfirman was selected ACC Rookie of the Week.

with numbers like Calvin has, I would't discribe him as selfish. :)

CJ Leslie is a fickle player. His attitude hurts this team way too often. His ego is beyond the charts, He's mainly concerned with his scoring, and the team comes second in games that I've watched. Calvin hasn't the mental appitude to change this either; in my opinion. He's selfish. This is in his mental state of mind. CJ is a talented player, but until he changes his mind-set he will be playing over-seas.

selfish? actually, i think he's even less selfish this year than last. he had 4asst against uconn and though he didn't have any against cleveland state, he did have about 3-4 "hockey assist" as well as some pretty good outlet passes. i do agree that his mental state could be stronger but he's learning as he goes. i disagree that he's only concerned with offense...he's rebounding well and is tied for the team lead in blocks with wood (didn't see that coming).

shot attempts this year looks like this:
brown - 80
leslie - 72
warren - 70
howell - 69
purvis - 60

This is a player of the week column not a bash a player column!!!

Jgunn-I agree. If Coach can fix this attitude, CJ and State will be ready for prime time-NOT UNTIL THEN!! Brown has issues I cant figure out as well. He looks ready to take over the leadership roll, then pulls some bone headed stunt.

All that being said, they are still young -except Howell. Oh-don't forget Scott Wood and his lack of 3s. If his shooting gets better-along with the other stuff, wow! Molly hold the door!!

CJ deserves the recognition for his talent and performance this week, but I don't like his attitude, never did. Gottfried deserves credit for working with "Calvin" and trying to get past his diva behavior. As much as I don't care for his demeanor, I can't deny Leslie's talent.
