NC team advances to US final at Little League World Series

The Southeast team, from Greenville, N.C., advanced to the U.S. Final at the 2017 Little League World Series Wednesday night 2-1 over a team from Texas.
Southeast took the early 1-0 lead on a home run by Carson Hardee. Southwest countered with a run in the third, and that it how it stayed through six innings.
Pitchers for the Southeast team, which was 2-0 in Williamsport and had thrown two shutouts before Wednesday, combined for 14 strikeouts and gave up just a single hit.
Southeast gets two days of rest before taking on the winner of Southwest vs. Northeast Saturday for the U.S. Championship Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
