NCCU's Frazier suspended after arrest

Posted August 20, 2013

NCCU's Henry Frazier shares a laugh at the 2013 Pigskin Preview July 25.

— Henry Frazier III, head football coach at North Carolina Central University, was suspended from his job Tuesday, a day after he was arrested on a charge of violating a domestic violence protective order. His court date is set for September 30.

Frazier will be paid by the university, the school said in a statement, "while the matter is being investigated by legal authorities."

It is the second suspension for Frazier, who took over Central's football program in December 2010. He missed a couple of months on the job last summer after a fight with his wife resulted in an assault charge.

NC Central opens the football season Aug. 31 at Duke. Dwayne Foster, assistant head coach, will serve as acting head football coach during Frazier's suspension.

I read the article yesterday. I recall something about Frazier praying for his ex and trying to "annoint" her by rubbing some sort of oil on her, which she rebuffed. Frazier said that with a straight face I'll assume. My facts may be slightly off, but that is the gist of it. I'm going to call the stuff "AnnOintment".

If all he did was pay a parking ticket and have his son send his ex-wife a letter saying he paid it... there really shouldn't be a violation. However, the law says any contact is illegal, so he should've done his research as to how he could or could not contact her. Unfortunate situation all around, I feel for the kids. Hope the truth comes out

I think I'll wait until the verdict is in on this one. Wish him the best BUT if he's guilty, he needs to go.

He should call Ol Roy Williams... he should be able to get him out of this situation easily. This would be a walk in the park compared to the strings he pulled for Puff J.

Thought the new thinking was "what does his private life have to do with his job?"
