it's going to be hilarious watching the pastel house of cards come crumbling down when swofford is CORRECTLY shown the door of the ACC Commissioner's office.

no more favorable schedules/rulings/FAVORTISM played by showing up in DEFENSE when the NCAA is discussing their imminent HAMMER dropping.

I shall laugh hysterically.

I could care less whether the ACC has a UNC grad running the show or not. UNC athletic excellence was built decades before Swofford and it will continue without him at the helm. If you're pinning your hopes for UNC's downfall on Swofford's departure then you're going to be sorely disappointed when as the old saying goes..."the more things change, the more things stay the same." GO HEELS!

correct, if swofford's successor is a hole grad, or former employee... nothing will have changed.

Swofford doesn't need to push UNC-Duke. That rivalry has thrived by default because State, Wake, Maryland, Virginia, GT, and others in the ACC have fallen off the map in basketball. It's the only good thing about ACC basketball for the last 20 years so who can blame him for tooting that lone horn.

Swofford is not pushing anything. National sports pundits have argued that Duke - Carolina is not only the greatest rivalry in college basketball, but also perhaps the greatest sports rivalry PERIOD.... right there with Lakers - Celtics, Red Sox - Yankees, etc. SACy and the rest of the little brother syndrome sufferers need to let go of their jealousy. Why is this so hard to do?

The more things change, the more they stay the same... I would tend to agree as State loses it's 4th in a row. Same ol' State.

Swofford doesn't need to push UNC-Duke. That rivalry has thrived by default because State, Wake, Maryland, Virginia, GT, and others in the ACC have fallen off the map in basketball. It's the only good thing about ACC basketball for the last 20 years so who can blame him for tooting that lone horn.

problem is he doesn't push anything else in the acc, just things that benefit unc. Does he ever push and promote the uva and vatech rivalry in ANY SPORT? What about miami and fsu? You hear barely anything. Especially with miami and fsu. You would think he would when trying to build up talk in football. Swofford doesn't care about football because unc is not a football school. I remember reading an article on wral about swoffords reactions during the unc state game in raleigh back in 2009. Every time state had a good play or a penaly was called on unc, he would look bothered or unhappy. Now if he is for all schools, why would he feel that way. As commish, every acc school is supposed to be your school. I had a unc fan call me up before the game saying that state would win in raleigh because the refs were going to give state make up calls. I laughed and told him "do you honestly think swofford would help state? You must be drinking".

Id!ot post again Daffney! The entire planet pushes the UNC/Duke rivalry! If he has "pushed" it as you have said then I haven't seen or heard of him doing it but whatever.

You are a true example of a sad State fan who blames others instead of blaming the pathetic school you pull for who hasn't invested into their athletic department the way others have!

You should check out the facts on all the other schools in the ACC who have won ACC or NCAA championships since Swofford took over. 52 national championships overall! Of course States not on either list!

obviously you have never left NC. I have been to over half the country because i used to get 3 grand in tax returns and would take road trips. Not a lot of people outside of nc care about unc and duke. You think pac 10 fans actually care about unc and duke? What about big ten fans aside from the challenge (my in laws all live in michigan so i can tell you they don't). You KNOW big east fans don't care about unc and duke or any acc team besides the ones that left the big east. Unc and duke basketball is junior varsity compared to the competition in the big east. LOL the usual unc ego "the world revolves around us" LOL i live in va beach and have YET to spot one unc fan off the top of my head. Spotted plenty of nc state and duke fans though ;)

Lol i will admit i was up visiting the in laws and saw a guy at this hotel with a unc jacket. I asked him "are you a fan" and he told me "no. Someone gave me the jacket for a cheap price and i was cold" LOL.. must have been a walmart jacket.
