- Posted by ThePackisBack- Posted by ssjack830wow.now you are an expert on what I've read and what I know. What I do know is I saw plenty of outrage from state fans about unc's players but none on greene. none. "you know about it and you knew about it. Stop lying"...talk about lying. making statements of fact about me, when you don't know sh*t about me clearly exposes you as the only liar here. Oh and no one ever gets killed on I-85...wow...talk about JUSTIFYING HIS BEHAVIOR AS YOU PRETEND TO CONDEMN IT. you must work for a pr firm. they take jobs no matter who is paying...to justify and put a pretty face on whatever goes down the pike. By the way, until fans like you stop justifying this kind of behavior, "todays standard" will be tommorrows' standard as well...of course, since you are a mind reader and have the overview to know what strangers know...guess you are the victim of information overload...don't waste your time on sports. Get busy with world peace...- Posted by Juice E FruitFinding it interesting to have witnessed your continued outrage over some dumb decisions by Carolina players THAT ENDANGERED NO ONE, while making excuses for this.
Okay, you know so much about Mustafa Greene's issues, yet you say:
I don't know anything about blue's situation, but anyone with a scholarship that gets caught endangering the public should be banned from the team unless CLEARED. Not remain on the team.
Okay, so you are here railing against Greene still being on the team because of all the outrage you have perceived from State fans about UNC players. Okay.
So you apparently DO know about the many, many UNC players that get into trouble, yet you claim to "know nothing about Blue's situation"?
You don't know about your own players, but you're an expert on an NC State player's off-field issues? But wait, you are here talking about this because of how State fans have talked about UNC players that got in trouble....so you DO know about UNC players, and probably know about Blue, too?
Okay, so why all the railing against Greene, and not Blue? You know about it, and you knew about it. Stop lying.
WOW do you believe the garbage you type?
The "presumption of innocence" only applies in criminal trials. In the court of public opinion, we draw our own conclusions based upon the available evidence. As I recall, you claimed that UNC's only problem was a rogue assistant and that UNC need not voluntarily skip the Independence Bowl because no post-season ban would be included in the sanctions. UNC obviously had problems throughout the football program. If Mustafa's situation is symptomatic of a program-wide problem, I'm sure the BOG will call for an independent investigation.- Posted by NCSU79

Lol....seriously, LOL at ANY State fan saying this ever again.
I understand, thrill. You probably grew up believing the "Carolina Way" really exists, and these past 2 years have been difficult for you. Your school sold its soul for a pipe dream of national relevance in football, and all it got for it was a mention in SI as a darkhorse national championship contender and a Music City Bowl trophy. Don't be mad at us NCSU fans, we only performed the intervention. Be mad at that con-man drawing a check from you for the next 3 years in Tampa Bay who had you convinced that national football relevance was possible.
Says the fan of the school whose only athletic highlight of the past 20 years has been an NCAA investigation of its so-called "rival" school.
We're Carolina...we're strong enough to get over an NCAA investigation. You weren't...which is why you basketball team is still trying to recover from transgressions that you committed in the 1980s, why you have the lowest athletic graduation rates of any school in the ACC, and why your athletic department is consistently one of the least successful athletic departments in the conference.
I seriously wouldn't be bragging about ANYONE's graduation rates after all the cheating and fraud that's been exposed at Carolina.
Seriously, your teams consistently take MORE non-qualifiers than any 1A school in the state, yet you graduate more of them. Doesn't anyone think that's suspicious?
How do you take MORE of the least qualified kids and consistently have them leave UNC with degrees?
Answer: Cheating. Now everyone knows it.
Sorry, but at State, our kids actually have to go to class. They can't turn in papers that are almost 100% plagiarized and get away with it. They don't have tutors writing and re-writing papers for them.
Yes, we have some easier, 'jock' majors like everyone else, but they DO have to attend class and do the work. Unlike at UNC.
And LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL at any UNC fans who EVER brings up academics again. What an absolute joke that is.
- Posted by Juice E Fruit- Posted by The GodfatherI got a great laugh out of this Mr. 79. After your posts on the NCAA investigation at UNC and your condemnation of the athletes, tutors, and program, for you to lecture us on "due process" and "burden of proof" now is absolutely hysterical. I'm looking for a word to use here, starts with an H, ends in a Y, but it's just not coming to me...hmmm, oh, wait, that's it, hooey! Um, during the UNC fiasco, we had EVIDENCE. That's how we knew UNC was in trouble, that's where everyone's opinion on UNC came from. Well, that, and decades of knowing UNC cheated and got away with it.
In the Greene case, the only evidence we have is, he was stopped and cited for traffic violations.
Then they found some drug residue at his place another time.
So he speeds, and smokes some weed, apparently.
And? It's not good, but it's not like he's been charged with rape, like LT, or DWI, like AJ Blue(still on the team). More like the dozen or more marijuana arrests like UNC has had over the last decade or so. A LOT more than State has had, that's for sure. But that's what we have to go on.
Greene didn't participate in spring ball, and his future is still up in the air.
If he plays, I don't see how that's anywhere at all worse than UNC keeping players on the team who have done similar or worse things.
The rap sheets between the two schools are so heavily tilted toward UNC over the last ten or more years, it's not even close.

I think after the absolute witch hunt against NC State in the late-80's that produced mostly nothing but castrated our athletics program and left us with a UNC yes-man as AD, yeah, I think that any failure to presume UNC's innocence on our part can rightly be overlooked. We have plenty of goodwill for that banked over the last 20 years.
- Posted by Juice E FruitSimple answer: We do a better job at helping our athletes (and non-qualifiers) than you do. We have a better support staff. We place a greater emphasis on academics and graduating.- Posted by chapelthrill2007
Simple stuff, really.
And no, the "better academics in undergrad" is not very debatable.
Oh, it's VERY debatable. Let's see: State undergrads make more money on average. They make more money throughout their career. They are in higher demand (per Wall Street Journal) than UNC grads.
Shall I continue?
UNC turns out plenty of liberal arts majors, which are typically pretty useless unless you're going to get your master's. But they others typically end up at bank tellers, secretaries, cashiers, etc. Not a thing wrong with those jobs, but you certainly don't need a UNC or State or any other 4 year degree to do them, and those types of jobs certainly don't justify the cost of attending either school.
And LOL at "we do a better job graduating our athletes". If "better job" means: We don't really require them to attend class or do their own work and just hand them a degree for signing their LOI, then yes, UNC does a better job.

False. State undergrads may make more money than UNC undergrads on average. Then again, they may not. The payscale.com survey that you are citing is pretty bogus, and a legitimate survey hasn't been done.
Every single academic ranking out there has UNC undergrad ahead of State undergrad by a wide margin. USNWR is the most popular college ranking system out there, and they have UNC as a top 5 public university, while NC State is the lowest ranked university in the ACC, somewhere in the triple digits.
Not saying that NC State is a bad school (it isn't). But, the quality of education is better at UNC (hence the higher rankings, greater selectivity and more overall prestige).
