RE: Fedora stirring the pot...

He better beat us this year, because UNC is going to get progressively worse the next few years with the scholarship losses.

That said, I think it's good that coaches at both institutions embrace the rivalry. It was cool when Bunting and Chuck were here. Both alums and former players. To Bunting, State was THE game. Chuck didn't take it as seriously, he'd rather beat FSU. (and he did, a lot)

TOB embraced the rivalry, and Butch did not. Butch's treatment of it reminded me of Herb's view of the UNC or Duke game. And Butch's record in the game reminded me of Herb's vs. UNC, too.

There's no getting around the two giants in the state being 20 miles apart, in the same conference, and being bitter rivals. There just isn't. Coaches might as well embrace the game and make the most of it.

^^^for us getting worse. conjecture. it will hurt, but there's talent left.

RE: Fedora stirring the pot...

State will be a football power this year, and should have no problem beating UNC, Duke, and Wake. They have bigger goals--mainly an ACC championship and another bowl victory. I admire TOB and his professionalism when it comes to his football team. NC State has a great program, great facility. I always have a great time when I head out to Carter-Finley for a few beverages and a game. Good people, good university, good football program.

I don't admire him endorsing criminal behaviour, esp. when it involves public safety and has lethal potential. Appears to be putting winning above sending the right message. Starting to look like kentuck(without the NCs),win at all cost. Who cares what is truly right?

RE: Fedora stirring the pot...

ssjack830 you must be one sick puppy. You believe everything you read or hear from the media. You do not know any of States players, nor what is going on around you. You need to keep you trap shut, and think about your own teams problems.

I'm not sure if i'm ready to call them a football power this coming year, but given the schedule we have, we should win a lot of games.

RE: Fedora stirring the pot...

Why don't you bring this up with UNC football since you have a player with a DWI arrest on your team? Why no uproar about Aj Blue? We know that Butch putting winning above all else but now it could be Fedora's time to send the right message.
UNC's issues probably are not that important to you I guess.

He's doing what he should be doing...getting the fan base excited and behind him, taking the State game seriously, while making some noise in the process. He just better back it up and translate it to the field.

GO STATE!
