Bleacher Report? Might as well have cited PackPride.

I like how the Bleacher Report cited PackPride. "I guess there is nothing like being busted by your rivals." More props to wufwuf1. I hope you folks don't end up having to vacate the 2009 National Championship over all of this rogue behavior.

RE: How Will Academic Fraud Investigation Affect UNC Basketball?

Ha ha that is nothing but an attention-grabbing headline by a website just as disreputable as crackride.

There is nothing in that article, or anything else I've read, that would indicate any hint of impropriety by a basketball player.

Talk about grabbing at straws.

Not the 23 fraudulent Swahili classes taken by UNC basketball players?

That doesn't indicate any participation in academic fraud, possibley lead to by tutors and academic advisors?

Not an ounce of indication?

Not an OUNCE.

The investigation is of the professor, not the students. As clearly stated, there is no indication that the students did anything wrong or that the student-athletes, in any sport, were treated any differently than the non-athletes. Really, how hard is that to understand?

Oh, I see. You're just a dook fan, not a dook graduate.

Don't confuse them with facts. They hate that.

Last time I checked, it took two to tango. Academic integrity should involve students, professors, and administration. I feel bad for you. You seem to think that ignoring the problem will make it go away.

not an ounce of indication, especially when you do not want to see it, and spend an inordinate amount of time defending and deflecting...like chapelthrill

Yes, the investigation starts at the top ,in this case, but if grades were changed or fraud, it doesn't matter if it was by the professor because it will affect the players. Also, if any of these occured with the players, they knew that it was happening so it makes them guilty also. The investigation is just starting, but I guess that it will show a much higher percentage of athletes were involved in these frauds than non-athletes. Its very clear at this point that there were criminal violations and probably NCAA violations, just keep denying and deflecting as always, I'm sure it will just go away like the football program did, right? But the biggest difference is that after the NCAA let UNC off lightly on the football investigation, they will have no mercy when they return. They will feel like UNC embarrassed them and lied to them, will probably go after lack of institutional control. And the criminal aspect is something you do not see very often at all, it is an embarrassment to the education system and will not be tolerated. If UNC is found guilty of criminal fraud involving more than just 1-2 people, they will be punished severly and an example made of them. There is no excuse for this type of academic fraud. But keep denying and looking the other way, it will just go away.

Sham major created for athletes. Athletes got a hugely disproportionate amount of the available seats, and of course some regular students got in, too.

Still doesn't change the fact that it's a sham major created for athletes. AA studies has no use whatsoever in the real world....other than maybe if you eventually want a job teaching AA studies somewhere.

As another thread indicated, and as Wufwuf's stellar work reveals, athletes have a very much higher shot at getting one of those classes than a regular student does.
There's only one reason for that...and all you UNC fans know it, and you're simply arguing because you don't want to admit it.

Now back to your regularly scheduled denial.......
