State football APR tied for last in the ACC

RE: State football APR tied for last in the ACC

Did you even read the article you linked? Perhaps you should have, because according to it, the hicks in Raleigh on State's basketball squad finished above Carolina's vaunted basketball team. So what, you want to bring up football when you outscore us on a test in a classroom, but as soon as we beat you five years in a row on the gridiron, football doesn't matter anymore?

And assuming Carolina beats us in hoops at some point next year, what would your response be if I said "oh yeah, our squad has a higher APR!!!!" You'd rightfully call me a whiny child, which is how you're behaving here...

Also of note is the fact that Carolina's football was bested by:

Duke
Clemson
Miami
Boston College
Georgia Tech
Wake Forest
Virginia Tech & Virginia.

Is that the stuff of bragging rights to you?

The sad thing is State players can't do any better with classes that teach you things like how to properly position a garden Gnome.

Yeah, well I bet you couyldn't pass some of these classes. Why don't you take a visit to some of the research facilities that some of these grads work at. By the way, some of the grads from the swine production, turfgrass management, and inscent control in field crops are called researchers, chemist and scientist. You might want to get a clue being you have no idea what you are talking about. And while you are checking out those grads, you might also want to check out the grads that engineer the Freedon Tower and the ones that work at NASA, but I know, we don't have doctors, only the people that help develop the roads, buildings, and equipment that allow them to do their jobs.

I have no interest in landscape maintainance or swine production. I find it funny tough as my grandfather was successfully able to run a large farm without a college degree for about 50 years. I also have a first cousin who is CEO of one of the largest coffee companies in the U.S. (agriculture related)and only has a high school diploma.
As far as stating that I could not pass some of these courses, how on Earth would you know? I have zero interest in any of them however.
But it is funny how I heat a sore spot with the tinfoil hat wearers of the board who assume just because one professor was handing out grades at UNC that they all do it. Apparently they can dish it out but can't take it, but I expect no less from the State bunch.

Your ignorance and arrogance is laughable. A lot has changed with science and technology in regards to farming over the past twenty years. Who develops that round up ready crop that is being grown or disease resistant corn. These things effect everyone's life.

Ask your first cousin how much coffee is produced in the US (aside from Hawaii). Your cousin business position as CEO has very little if anything to do with agriculture.

Get off your high horse and realize the value of an education, regardless of what area/field it is in. Continuing education and research has huge impacts on the economy and future of our society. Do you think it is a pharmacist discovering the next antibiotic? More likely it is a botanist that has isolated an antibiotic from a plant and things are passed down the line.

RE: State football APR tied for last in the ACC

Interesting thing about all those classes: They are all harder than any class any UNC football or basketball player takes, and certainly much harder than any class in the AA studies program over there.

Of course, even a class in eating Krispy Kreme doughnuts would be harder than a UNC AA studies course, if it required the students to simply show up to class and there was a teacher actually there.

Yeah, the classes that Zeller took to become an Academic All American were very easy. How many Academic All Americans does State's football or basketball teams have?

Coffee is not agriculture? That is a new one for me. He is out in the field constantly looking for different blends and better beans, and the fact that you have no idea about that shows your ignorance. That you tin foil hat wearers continue to throw stones when you have classes on how to properly place your Garden Gnome is hilarious.
I am sorry, landscape maintainance is not changing anyone's lives, is not finding "the cure" and is absolutely worthless unless you are running a Golf Course or garden shop. Keep pretending that anyone outside of Central N.C. gives two shats about State college. You guys should come up with something useful like urinals in the stands for the large problem State has with fans urinating in the stands.

Well, this thread is progressing quite nicely...

You are making making Carolina fans look petty and ill-informed. Not just farmers and golfers need the research, but so does anyone with a yard, whether lots of mown grass or left in some "natural" state. The research and the Extension Service publications are great resources.

Now personally, I have some real concerns with GM crops and with the long term effects of Roundup-ready crops. I grew with DDT, DDE, MH30, and lots of other chemical exposure on a farm.

BTW I have found that rows of wax myrtles and red cedars make for "good" neighbors, and good habitats for birds and small animals.

Business degree. Better than AA studies, for sure. Congrats to Zeller, that's UNC Hoops' first Academic All America since Montross. Incidentally, State had Todd Fuller at the head of the academic AA team back then, too, so congrats on having ONE more player on that squad than we have in the last 20+ years.

Personally, I find it funny when people start talking academics and big-time college sports, because the academics are mostly a joke.

What's ever funnier is when fans of a diploma mill like UNC brag about academics....so you take the most unqualified players of any school in the state, then you're going to brag about how many you graduate? And especially now that we know for a fact that UNC was just handing out grades, and what players were really majoring in was eligibility, that makes it even funnier.

What's even funnier than that is, UNC was cheating just as bad as any SEC school, has been for years, and....no results. Tire bowls. Lost 5 straight to NC State, where the kids actually go to class (even the easy ones) and actually will get kicked off the team if they don't. (very unlike UNC)
