Roy Williams is a very mediocre coach. He lives on UNC's reputation. Coach K is much better than Roy and Dean. As Duke has been much better than UNC the past 20 or so years. Check the stats.

Since Roy has been at UNC, Roy has two national titles and K has one.

Reading is fundamental. I'm not the one who brought a specific time frame up, ndwallace is. I've said plenty of times on here that all-time, K>Roy and UNC>Duke.

Nc State motto: "Wait til next year." Repeat every year.

(Oh, and the only team in the triangle that has made the College World Series anytime recently has been UNC).

I'll take 4-2 any day of the week, year, etc...Roy has recruited better than Coach K most years. I say; most years. Coach K doesn't walk on H2O, nor does any other coach.

I appreciate both coaches. Both are HOF'ers. Dean Smith coached in a different era. Athletes today hit the gym and get bigger, faster, and stronger. Dean Smith and Wooden are still at the top in their era. Coach K is just a tad upward at this time. No one has won like Coach K from college to the Gold. In a game time situation I would take K over Roy 2-1.
