"We will not lose any scholarships. Ain't going to happen." "No bowl bans. Mark it down." "We will get a slap on the wrist, nothing more."
Yep, it's just everyone's imagination. Riiiight.

The last was excatly that, "a slap on the wrist" A 1 year bowl ban IS nothing. IT WAS a slap on the wrist. Sorry
It is imagination to think the "death penalty" is coming. Ask TBU, he will never be able to say a word without being MOCKED. Try another avenue of obsession, this one leads down the path of nothingness.
Good nite!

So, having the SBI and a former governor leading a bunch of forensic auditors digging up dirt on campus so soon after the NCAA dropped the hammer on Penn State is of no consequence? Maybe the DSM will come up with a new diagnosis for the kind of delusions that UNC fans have had the past 3 years, such as Tar Heel Mania.

Exactly right, NCSU79! You hit my premise right on the head. The NCAA has painted itself into the proverbial corner by their ruling on Penn State. And my prediction has been that the first true violator of NCAA rules that comes along afterwards will be made into an example. That appears to be UNC; quite unfortunately.
Bear in mind the NCAA did not run its own investigation into PSU - they relied on the Freeh report. Could the same thing happen with UNC? Possibly. In other words: Sanctions could be levied when the SBI and/or Governor Martin reports come out. That might explain the lack of NCAA investigators poring over records in Chapel Hill.
I discount the "Pandora's Box" theory. Why? All of the recent revelations about academic improprieties means it has already been opened - which further increases pressure on the NCAA to act.
As mentioned in my opening post: It is much easier to kick someone when they are already down. UNC was already hit with sanctions - my premise is that will make them an easier target to be hit yet again. And never, ever underestimate the power of media outlets calling for action. You can believe Emmert & Company are reading those reports and smarting from the criticisms.
At the end of the day, these are only predictions. If I miss the bullseye, it won't be the first or last time. But I think my arrows are going to be pretty close to the mark when all is said and done.............
