RE: The 5 Most Overrated Teams in College Basketball

What I find most interesting about this is that this isn't a ranking by a group of experts at someplace like ESPN or CBS Sports. It is the opinion of one "expert", namely Sebastian Lena. For those of you who don't know Sebastian, he has an illustrious career in sports reporting. I don't believe he actually played any sports, since he spent most of his five years at UMass-Boston (not the D-I school) writing for that school's newspaper. He also covered high school sports briefly as a trailer for the Boston Globe. He is now an unpaid correspondent for the BleacherReport.

That's it. Those are his credentials. Sure sounds like someone whose opinion is worth it's weight in gold, don't you think?

The fact is, that is pretty much what the Bleacher Report is. It's "reports" from people whose primary credential is that they once sat in the bleachers to watch their kids play. Tommy, something tells me that we missed our calling. Why did we actually work all these years when we could have been giving our unsolicited opinions on sports?

True story from here in North Raleigh. A local lady has been writing a blog for a couple years. About 4 months ago, Huffington Post picked up a snippet of her blog and put it out there. Immediately, her blog hits went through the roof and advertisers started hitting her up to put their ads on her blog. Now she is re-modeling inside her home to transform her "hobby" into a real income-producing job. Thanks to the internet.

I wonder what the author's "real" Top 5 would look like. I'm guessing this is pretty close:

1. UNC
2. UNC
3. UNC
4. Louisville
5. Kansas

Probably when you UNC fans that are stup8d enough to think State fans don't know you are UNC fans stop coming on State's forums and obcessing over State. All you really have to do is go on the forum homepage and count the number of posts started by UNC fans on the State forums and then go to the UNC forums and count the number of posts started by State fans, and see how many State fans pretend to be a UNC fan. But then again no real State fan would pretend to be a UNC fan, they just could not bear the thought of anybody actually thinking that they were low enough to be UNC fans. Any respectable State fan would cringe at the thought of even pretending they were a UNC fan. So you can claim that State fans are obcessed all you want to, but the forums prove otherwise. They really prove who the obcessed ones are, all you have to do is read. We are really flattered that the UNC fans start more posts on State's forum than they do on their own forum and pretend to be State fans. Talk about obcession, it doesn't get much worse than that.
