Very true about Lutz, Hokie. I was kinda worried you guys were going to snag him - he's been a huge asset to us. I like what James Johnson has been saying about having VT concentrate on playing fast-paced basketball, it should be interesting to see. I still kind of feel like Seth Greenberg got a raw deal. I liked him, and he kept VT pretty relevant most years. You guys got screwed out of the NCAA tourney on more than a couple of occasions. Here's to a better year for VT.

No question about the title in this one. Coach Gott was a wise choice. He also inherited great talent too. Gott also hired one of the best head coaches around. Bobby Lutz is one of the best recruiters in the Country. If VT had given up some monies he possibly could have been up there.

the point of me bringing this up is that we've never seen you say anything positive about state anything. oh well...it is what it is i guess.

back to topic....go pack, go gott. in my opinion, it's better to have all the hyped up coverage because ppl recognize that you are on the right track instead of being mired on the opposite end of the spectrum like wake (sorry deacons fans).

the players are all saying the right things (for the most part) about keeping up the hard work and staying humble...i'm confident that gott will straighten out any players that go astray from the pyramid of success.

I have never stated that all State fans are slobbering drunks, nor have I stated that all state fans attending Carter-Finley home games are slobbering drunks. If the shoe fits, then so be it.

The funny thing is, if/when State fails to win anything of consequence again this year, Hans will be the only NC State fan not on suicide watch.

Haven't read the entire content, but I think the best deal State has made was getting Bobby Lutz. I believe he is the recruiter.

And, congratulations on that #6 preseason ranking. With State 6, Duke 8, and UNC (amazingly) at 11, we might see some real good games this year. And I for one am glad to see State coming back.

  • buckets112 Nov 1, 2012

    doesn't read?

    View quoted thread

...and we've all seen the multiple posts about the slobbering drunks pouring out of carter finley after home games.

maybe you really are a state fan...who knows. but what is readily apparent to everyone is that you seem to derive enjoyment from making sarcastic and derisive remarks about anything state related.

i'm sure your friend doesn't insult the players and call them names like hans does. it's one thing to be level headed and downplay expectations...but come on, he takes it to a whole new level.

but then again, what do i know...according to him i'm a slobbering drunk that drives while intoxicated after football games...because that's what ALL state fans that ACTUALLY GO TO GAMES do.

there is a Hans equivalent in almost every fan base...I know of one within the UNC fan base personally (doesn't post to WRAL) - they basically have the show me mentality...talking is all well and good - but show me. This particular UNC fan was the first to downplay any talk of a natty last year.....not all fans are wired the same

I'll be the first to admit there are some loons in the State fan camp. Some Ragers, ABC'ers, etc. But we're not ALL crazy. You know what everyone can agree on, though? Hansy isn't a fan of State. (Though in fairness, he's not a fan of life. Dude's miserable.) The only people who ever agree with him are his Carolina brethren attempting to stir the pot.
