Honorable that he's donating a portion to charity... Ever the philanthropist!

I would hope that The university or would buy the ring for their HOF museum. It would be nice if an alumni bought it an at least loaned it to the museum.

I think the nets would be the most important.

True except I am talking about a player ring in a player HOF museum.

According to another article his wife is sick. So, I'm sure some of the money will certainly assist her situation. Thompson was one of the greatest of all times.

Dude would have easily approached 40ppg at State if they allowed dunking and had the 3-pointer. To date, hands-down the best college b-baller kato ever saw play in person. What he did at 6' 3" (at best) was simply amazing.

Thompson is a humble man and was always a man who did things with honor and dignity. I agree with kato. He as the greatest player I ever saw play the game. A true hall-of-famer, and a real gentleman.

I have watched a bunch of ACC basketball since I was in elementary school. David Thompson, Len Bias, and Michael Jordon were three great ones. Bias never was able to show us what he could have done after Maryland. His elevation was higher than the other two. MJ and Thompson are close, but I have to say that MJ was the greatest of all players in our History of basketball. His Pro career put him out there. He probably had more determination than most.
