Could you link us to that "official" announcement? I may have been golfing (or napping) when it came out.

While I don't hate UMD for the ignorant, racist reasons UNC fans clearly do, I definitely hate them and say "good riddance." Maryland has always had the second-worst fanbase in the league, right behind those bandwagon-jumping Tarholes. With any luck UNC will find the football money in another conference enticing as well, now that they're officially a "football school."

If rutgers won't go, i say we give them some more dead weight by dumping BC off on their front porch.

This news actually makes me happy. Maryland has been falling for some time now. They will punching bag of the big ten and thats coming from a state fan with family that are nc state/ohio state fans and married to a michigan fan, as well as all my in-laws. Bye bye turtles. Bout time we dropped the dead weight in the ACC.

I believe UCONN is the more significant team for pulling in the NYC market, more significant than Rutgers and Syrucuse. Syrucuse is upstate NY. Syrcuse AND UCONN would give the ACC strong support in the NYC market.

There is no "DC market" for the terps. That's why they have trouble raising $$ and selling tickets. DC/UMD area...talk about the hood.(same as area around uConn) As far as NY we got syrExcuse.

ACC never liked Maryland so they got what they deserve.

Wouldn't the NYC market (by adding UCONN) be a more than fair trade?

It's State's fault for stealing Yow after she got all Md.'s coaches booted. :)

There goes the DC market and alot of money to the ACC. The conference should have treated them better.
