LOL, who do we have that can't stop them both is an better question.
CJL = Calvin Joke Leslie. ( 2 points and 5 fouls, pitiful )

and I feel sorry for ncsuX fans that think that 5 kids who average scoring 9.8 ppg and plays no D is a good team.

    good luck with that!

LOL! My bad, I thought he said "serious offensive weapons". LOL!

    wood 1-11
cj 2 points before fouling out with 18 minutes left in the game.
Lobo - is disgusted with his coach.
Warren looks good! Pelvis is already wishing he choose a different school.

9.8 ppg, awesome, that's 58.8, how many wins will get ya when you aren't taught to defend?

Yeeha Cowboy, but I only see 5 in the list of "serious offensive weapons" (LOL) so that only = 49 ppg from all that seriousness. again, LOL!

    LOL.

Those offensive weapons sure had serious problems playing defense against 3 OSU Cowboys.

    LOL
considering that State has 6 players averaging 9.8 per game... it's really not that hard to explain.

the scary part (for acc teams NOT named NC STATE) is that the top 2 scorers currently, are both FROSH.

    Warren- scores from anywhere
    Purvis- see above
Wood- one of the premier shooters in college hoops
Lo B- you've witnessed him DISmantling each and every defender the tar holes have run at him, you know what time it is, cuh.
Leslie- WHO do you have that can stop him? Howell- see above about WHO

(watching its lack of a reply should be good)

State is going to take some lumps. It's really going to be in how they respond. The pressure will be immense. NCST will have to learn how to handle the bull's eye.

I think we can hang with anyone this year. I'm watching Indiana struggle(somewhat) with lowly Ga right now on TV. We have a very good team and I know all the UNC and Duke fans want to rub it in our face that we lost so early but in the long run we will be fine. Who else can say they have 6 serious offensive weapons this year? I do have a problem with everyone putting all the blame on CJ. We had a bad game as a team.

This team will fall apart before the years over. They are good and have talent without question........but way too many egos and a average head coach will seal their fate!

Its one thing to be the hunter.....its another to be the hunted! State hasn't had any pressure in almost 3 decades to win. As I said earlier this year.......we shall see!

We all know about pre-season polls, but some of these teams ranked are out of whack. OS beat #6 by 20 points in a sound fashion, and State is still ranked in front of them by 4 places. Watching State play last night...16 is a tad high I think. I'm sure they will get it together, but they showed some weaknesses last night. I was watching body language, hustle, and coming together as a team after being down. I didn't see it. Leslie surprised me with his attitude. A true leader doesn't sit and sulk on the bench like this.

    All Star

The ranking itself means nothing, true. But for all of us in the ACC, it is important that ALL of our teams win these out of conference games. It gives the teams that would have a higher seeding more room for error and a much bigger bump out of the ACC tournament. Please don't forget State fans that you almost missed the tournament all together last year in part because of the pizz poor OOC play of the teams around you. Would have been the same team that made it to the sweet 16 that did not even get an invite if VT had lost on or two more preseason games. So while some of my brethren revel in the State loss, I hope that we all win until we play each other, and that those meaningless numbers next to our names stay high. Nobody wins at all when any ACC team losses out of conference.

  • Hans Nov 19, 2012
    Sports Legend

Probably should have started out there or even lower. How many more games before they tumble out of the top 25 altogether? Two? Three?

the O/P clearly uses State as its "benchmark" to determine its favorite team's worthiness.

this thread lends significant proof to that.

    any other questions???

yep...absolutely right. the rankings only really matter at the beginning of march when seedings get doled out. i'm sure state will fluctuate all over the rankings during the season. hopefully they won't get bumped completely because that will mean things are going really bad.
