RE: State falls to 16th
A mild drop. And, really, a meaningless one this time of year.
RE: State falls to 16th
^^ yes, still very early. Everybody loses in basketball.
RE: State falls to 16th
We will be back soon enough but this time it will be truly earned

yep...absolutely right. the rankings only really matter at the beginning of march when seedings get doled out. i'm sure state will fluctuate all over the rankings during the season. hopefully they won't get bumped completely because that will mean things are going really bad.

the O/P clearly uses State as its "benchmark" to determine its favorite team's worthiness.
this thread lends significant proof to that.
any other questions???
RE: State falls to 16th
Probably should have started out there or even lower. How many more games before they tumble out of the top 25 altogether? Two? Three?
RE: State falls to 16th
The ranking itself means nothing, true. But for all of us in the ACC, it is important that ALL of our teams win these out of conference games. It gives the teams that would have a higher seeding more room for error and a much bigger bump out of the ACC tournament. Please don't forget State fans that you almost missed the tournament all together last year in part because of the pizz poor OOC play of the teams around you. Would have been the same team that made it to the sweet 16 that did not even get an invite if VT had lost on or two more preseason games. So while some of my brethren revel in the State loss, I hope that we all win until we play each other, and that those meaningless numbers next to our names stay high. Nobody wins at all when any ACC team losses out of conference.
