    Auto accident? This auto accident?

After visiting a nightclub on April 8, 2006, Hodge was on Interstate 76 in North Denver around 2:00 a.m. when another vehicle pulled alongside his and fired several shots.

Maybe you should get a grip on your wording as well as your sanity. "girls are girls, and guys are too"...so that equates to guys being girls. See how easy that is, even I was able to pick apart your pablum laced drivel.

So you do know that Hodge was involved in a serious auto accident that almost killed him after college and he has never been the same. I'm not sure but I think he still played for the Trailblazers after that but has never fully recovered from the impact the accident had on him.

You are probably right. State did play awlful, but calling Oklahoma State an average Big 12 team remains to be seen. So far they are undefeated and ranked. They have the 2011 Big 12 rookie of the year on the team and may have the 2012 Big 12 rookie of the year on the team. They may be an average team but until somebody beats them, they may be one of the best teams in the country, that still remains to be seen. State did also play a horrible game, but that is going to happen, it will not be the only time this year, but those games should be few and far in between. That lose is probably what State needed to get over all the hype. They will lose a few but by the end of the year they will be very strong. If Leslie wants to have an attitude, Warren has proven he can replace Leslie so far. But Leslie's attitude will adjust, he is not going to give up being a lottery pick and the team will gel like they did last year but it will not take nearly as long. Within the next 4-5 games you should see a team playing as a team, and a very good one at that.

I didn't say Hodge was lazy. I said CJ Leslie was selfish, brilliant at times and a drag on his team at others, all of which Hodge was as well. If you don't think Hodge was selfish with the ball, we weren't watching the same games. Besides, if he were that spectacular, why is he being cut from teams in Australia? Just because I'm a Wolfpack fan doesn't mean I have to be in love with every player to come through the place, and I never cared much for Hodge, JJ Hickson, or at this point, Leslie. I always liked the effort of Justin Gainey, Engin Atsur, Ilian Evtimov, and so far, Purvis and Warren.

I wouldnt put Hodge in Leslies category, but i dont care for CJ's petulant attitude..maybe Gott doesnt, either, since he benched him for a long stretch of the game...more power to him, either shape up or sit/ship out...and i'm not sure point guard is Browns position, i dont like his decision-making, especially at crunch-time....the close games we lost late last yr, unc&kansas, he made horrible decisions...it remains to be seen if he has matured in that respect, but i saw some terrible bounce passes he made against osu that set them up for fast breaks the other way..the frosh definitely look more polished, right now...still got more time to mesh physically, but the mental thing shouldnt take time...battle to the end or take the sulking elsewhere

Not into Freddie's lifestyle but the guy was one heck of an entertainer and band front man, tied in with absolutely and insanely good musical talent. The album cover for "Fat Bottomed Girls" still one of my all time favorites. I'm confident he does win the award for the most famous overbite.

We are right where we should be at 16th. We are a solid team but lack in many areas. Aggressiveness and chemistry are the biggest. We were in the double bonus gainst Penn State(maybe Miami) if i'm not mistaken with 15 mins to go in the second. That never happens to us and we have no idea how to exploit that, run down a team's bench and make easy points from the Charity Stripe(16-31 and I know the team was in foul trouble but not nearly enough). Howell still doesn't know how to shake off bad fouls, Leslie doesn't understand he can't keep dropping his shoulder into a defender and get away with it. We are getting big minutes from frosh and this team will come together once they shake the hype off and start coming together. We will be in contention for the ACC championship and make a decent run in the NCAA, but we will lose more bad games. It's NC State people, tame your expectations and enjoy having an exciting although frustrating basketball team. Go Pack!!!

I've never been sold on Leslie. I think he's Julius Hodge all over again. Selfish, brilliant at times but a drag on the team at others. The most talented guys on our team appear to be freshmen right now, but Warren and Purvis can't win all by themselves. Brown has to do the work and lead the squad, and Leslie and Howell have to get mentally tougher, buy some big boy pants, something.

A solid analysis ndwallace. I agree. They didn't show hardly any leadership against OS. That was the biggest surprise for me. Leslie will end up hurting this team, if he has an attitude like this many times. It rubs off on the entire team. A mentally strong person never does this to a team. Wood is so inconsistent. Brown and Howell did not take charge either to lead the team. I picked Duke to win the ACC tourney before the season began. UNC and Duke will battle it out...I think. NC State has a long way to go.

UNC still has the most talent once again. They are quick on defense, and have some pure shooters. Hairston will kill people with the 3 ball.

Hubert Davis was Roy's best hire to date.

State needs a Point Guard thats Tough! A point Guard drives the Ball up the Court and makes Crisp Passes and is a Great Defender on the other side of the Ball. Directs and Leads and Challenges his teammates. Encourages his team. He is in fact a Coach on the Court. We need one or Brown needs to step up. As Brown goes so will the team. Lorenzo lets Go !! Dude! Lets Go!!

Losses in November and December don't matter. Even great teams trip up every once in a while. Remember UNC in 2009? Dropped our first two ACC games to bad teams. Ended up winning a national title that year. Stuff happens.

I've been saying the frontcourt depth is a concern. Gottfried needs to figure out a strategy to protect Leslie and Howell from getting into foul trouble. Either that or DeThuay and Vandenberg have to do some mid-season improving.

the team is still learning how to play from the front...i don't mind a loss like this very early in the season. now, if they lose by 20 to boston college in the latter half of the acc schedule....then there are MAJOR problems.

NC State isn't ready for the spotlight yet. That doesn't mean it won't be, but the Wolfpack can't lose by 20 on a neutral court to an average Big 12 team and be the clear favorite to win the ACC.

Leadership/frontcourt depth will haunt NC State throughout the year. Whenever CJL decides to take a night off, the Pack will fall.

This is why I voted Duke as the preseason favorite in the ACC. NC State just isn't ready for the spotlight yet.
