Dream on. You lose 1 out of 6 years and that killed him. What killed him was losing to uva, plus all the losses to teams he was suppose to beat, like maryland. Unc people would like to believe that was the reason. DY has been after him since she came to state. He doesn't recruit well but what he did recruit, two & three stars, were good enough to beat your four & five stars, that didn't know what a paragraph was nor had ever read a book. There is a major flaw in your thought process.

^ He always managed to lose some games that he had no business losing (and usually win one per year that he had no business winning), but as long as he beat UNC he was safe. One loss to UNC was what knocked him off that tightrope he was walking. If he hadn't kicked to Gio, he'd be back next year.

TOBy would likely not have been back even if he did not kick to Gio. Everyone would agree his recruiting was par/subpar. Lack of a high point season(s) caused people in control to question the programs' direction.

Recruiting would have aided TOB two ways. One,if the current class was good it would have given TOB's bosses the ability to say the future will be brighter. Two, if the class was good management would be less likely to fire him out of hand as it basically puts your recruits straight back in the mix.

For the record his recruiting was not terrible, but as far as the immediate future is concerned he did not recruit quarterbacks as should be expected in the last two years leaving a hole that the ad probably questioned.

That's a nice twist on why TOB got canned. But really, the bottom line, dollar, and sinker is Gio. Guess it's no big deal either way, but I bet you a dollar to a doughnut that if they won just that 1 game, we wouldn't be having this covo.

season tickets! that was a reason to fire a guy. in the biggest recession in years? different opinion on how to run a football program? from a legacy hire coming from a destroyed maryland program? man o man this is gonna get better every day. forget the tutors and african studies . . . state is 2-10 next year. tops.
