Nope. I agree with Hokie. Personally, doctorates don't impress me much, and I don't find the need to call somebody "Dr." However, not actually earning a doctorate and demanding to be called "Dr." is so beyond pathetic it's off the charts and reeks of an over-inflated ego.

Don't get your panties in a wad, Hokie. People have the option to use the title if they wish. It is what it is. I am sure most people know if someone "earned" their Doctorate or not.

Bull Sugar. No way kid sir. I earned mine.

Honarary degrees are what they give a any people that give huge monies, get some publications, become a Icon in whatever....

You don't know Jack about what it takes to earn a doctorate. You are what makes me get a tad fed up on here. Read some. It will educate you. I promise. Dismal post!

Well then you need to do some more research online. Anybody receiving an honorary doctrine does in fact carry the official title of Dr.

I'm glad that someone from NC State University has the call on this one. If this article is true, and she has a parking space with Dr. Yow...yada yada. She has a definite need for more attention vs being the AD up there. This is a dismal thing for her. If this is true; I lost a helleva lot of respect for her too.

Thanks buckets for setting it straight. My daddy would say this; "well I'll be dammed." Her ego will be her dimise one day too. This is off the charts for me. Why in heck would she do this is this question? Her self-esteem is what? She lost in this one.

The worst things on Yow are probably at Maryland, at least according to the Terp fans. They blame her for much of the financial and coaching problems there, along with Loh and Anderson. From my limited view, their allegations against all three seem valid. The "Doctor" Yow story is rather sad on its own.

You're right about Yow-she has two fake doctorates. Wrong about me, though...Orange County Community College doesn't exist (I believe Durham Tech handles that in Orange County) and I don't work with you at McDonald's. Now, your manager there might have a degree from UNC, but I can assure you, I'm not him.

Now hurry back to work, the fry vat could use some cleaning.
