He maybe on holiday somewhere, but I'll bet he'll be in front of an HDTV tonight.

Why don't you show some initiative and do it yourself, Eeyore? Or would you just rather complain about it?

Has anyone emailed Dr. Debbie to find out what's going on?

I have it that the good Dr. is out of town. Maybe he's convalescing (sp.?) after TOB got let go. He knows that this year's victory was just a one-year blip. :-)

    Gotcha, thanks.

This meeting is probably just to discuss potential offers she's allowed to make. That would be my guess.

His buyout is already finalized. $1.2 million to be paid over 4 years.

I've been under the weather for a few days and honestly have not been following this closely (yet). I just kinda want to be told who the new coach is when the decision is made.

Could it be that Dr. Yow just told TOB he was fired, but had not actually worked out the terms of his buyout? Could this be about TOB's buyout negotiation?

No, it doesn't mean a decision has been made and the announcement will be soon. Rumors have it that Yow had already interviewed at least one coach before the season had ended and a hire COULD be announced by the end of the week, but nobody knows for sure. The meeting could very well be to just discuss the funds available to bring in a new coach.

One thing's for sure though, you won't see a stadium expansion for a while. Yow stated in an interview, sometime in the past year, that there would have to be a waiting list of season ticket holders before we decided to add any more seating to the stadium. And no on the parking decks please, this isn't Chapel Hill.

I think she prefers to be addressed as Dr. Yow.

No, it does not mean that a coach has been found definitively. It could simply be a budgetary discussion of how much can be offered.

For those in the know, does this mean a decision has been made and the announcement will be soon? I hope so. I liked TOB and his high standards, but I do agree we need someone else to lead to better performance. After the new coach, the next thing that State needs is about 15 to 20k more seats. I went to the first game at Carter in 66. The word on the street was that it would never be filled up and that the 50 year loan would never be paid off. Holtz filled it and it was paid off in approximately 20 years. Add the seats and the rest will follow. And after that, build a large parking deck between CF and PNC with overhead entrances. I wonder if DY needs an assistant?

the money used for the buyout will come from existing wolfpack club funds and other donor sources of revenue. raising tuition has nothing to do with buying out TOB.

Listened to 99.9 the fan while driving and idk if this was alum or what but he was pretty upset that Yow was throwing away $1.2 million to buyout TOB and they're raising tuition. I don't know what big money is like in the ACC but it's like a business, sometimes you have to shell out lots of $$$$ into your investment to get ahuge return later.

Rumor has it State is ready to put up some major $$$. I hope it is spent wisely, and would rather see a hungry up-and-comer than a deteriorating "big name" coach. I trust Debbie Yow's judgment - she has a personality that is polarizing, but her track record at UMD, so far at NCSU, has proven her to be one of the premier ADs in the country.

You must have learned that military lingo in a naval course that replaced the american afro studies classes at unc. Was it a harder course or was it one of those that you didn't have to go to class?

Interesting. Thanks for the heads up.

It could also just be the BOT meeting to approve what range Debbie can throw at prospective coaches.

NCSU Board of Trustees meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday, the 28th, to discuss compensation. I have no inside knowledge, but it does momentarily give credibility to the rumor that Yow already has her coach. It's interesting, nonetheless.
