Good news for UNC! Not only did Indiana help their strength of schedule, but Butler won tonight also. Now UNC might have a chance at another 3rd place NIT banner!

Does Maryland count as win for the ACC or Big 10?

I'm okay with a seven point loss to the #3 team. How did your game turn out?

State played the best game they could play and lost. Wake up and smell reality.

State has nothing to be ashamed of in this game and played worlds better and with more effort than last 2 games. All stats improved except, once again, 67 or so percent from the free throw line. But hey, if free throws are now the largest of The NCSU worries from here on that is fixable.

Here's to hoping I was wrong about Carolina!

VT is on a 5-0 run for the 1st time since 84-85. They should win with an up-tempo. Michigan will kick State by 12+. MD will win. WF? I doubt it. UNC will be close, but I don't think they can pull it tonight. Hairston is out, and he's 3rd leading scorer. How's my spelling thus far?

I'd love to say State by something but I just don't have that gut feeling like I did in the ACC and NCAA tourney last year. But I also don't think Michigan is necessarily the #3 team in the country either. Michigan by 7.

    Indiana v UNC...Indiana by 8.

I like State by 6, Indiana by double digits.

I did pick the game. Its just a 2 sided if this happens kind of prediction. Hard to pick definitively, because I think State can win, it just comes with alot of factoring. Its a win or lose game for either team. The unc/Indy game (while a win for the heels would be good for the ACC) I think is a Butler/UNC game with Indiana in the roll of UNC. If the heels win tonight I would put it on the same level of upset that the heels suffered against the bulldogs. Im not saying Carolina cant win this game, but with PJ on the bench, it will take an almost perfect outing.

Hate saying this, but I think both go down in flames. State worse than Carolina. Hope I'm wrong.

I agree that the outcome for the Heels could be as you say. For the record I would like nothing better than for both teams to win this game. But I do not believe that we are quite ready for this yet. Still, it will be interesting to gauge our development against a good team. Indiana by 6 would be likely even if we played well.

For the record you did not pick anyone in the State game. I think that the defense of Michigan's front court could have an enormous impact on this game. While NCSU improved significantly statistically against UNC-A the turnovers were still way to high. The other key is free throws. I think State is shooting somewhere in the mid 60% or low 70% range. It is hard to win close games against good teams like this if you are going to give a 8-16 point advantage to the other team from the line. I would say that a fair line would be Michigan by 3.5 BUT I would not be surprised by any score in this game similar to your statement above.

State @ Michigan - (Sorry in advance for all the "ifs") The Pack can win this game if they play consistently on offense, if they shore up what has been a lackluster, if not, non-existent defense and if they dont get into that pouty mentality that has reared its ugly head in a few games so far this year. On the other hand, if the Pack plays like it has its last 3 games, this thing wont even be close. Michigan is no UNCA, and may have the best back-court duo that State (or anyone else, for that matter) may see all year. I expect State to show up tonight with a competitive air to themselves, but Im old enough to know things dont always go like I expect. Prediction -State by 12 (if the A-team shows up). Michigan by too high for me to count (if they show up like Sunday and Friday)

UNC @ Indiana - This game is a little easier to call, not because its the pastel boys, but because its a game of match-ups. If UNC has the overall talent to hang with Indy, I havent seen it. Take away PJ (who Roy said was the only player he has that works at the 4 spot) and the job gets that much harder. If McAdoo gets hot and can control the middle, the heels keep it close. Foul trouble, bad shooting or a hot Hoosier team, and this is gonna be a blow-out. Prediction- Indiana by 15
