106th - acc lowest rated academic school now has company

RE: 106th - acc lowest rated academic school now has company

I've never met anybody anywhere that envies anything about the 'Fack. Sad really.

yep... this thread and several others do a LOT to back up your claim.

NO bowl game + below average hoops team, leaves pastel nation in quite the ENVIOUS mode.

funny, really.

Yeah, because anyone from a school ranked considerably higher than #106 would be envious of the one in that position. LMAO!

I'd rather be ranked 200th and earn it honestly that ranked higher by fraud. UNC's academic ranking is no longer anything to be admired by anybody other than UNC. UNC's rankings will drop quite a bit and everybody else is already laughing at you. Kind of like the doork looking in the mirror and pretending how mucho he is while everybody else sees him for exactly what he is.

Here's a news flash: UNC's academic rankings in various publications have actually gone up since the "scandal" broke. You know why? 20,000+ students with 4.0 GPAs out of high school and SAT scores from 1300-1600 tend to impact a university's academic standing more than five or six athletes who are just there to play sports.

Want to know another fun fact? UNC just put out another Rhodes Scholar this year...our 49th one. That's more than any other public university in the country has put out. Care to guess how many Rhodes Scholars State has produced? Big, fat zero.

But those are just facts.

Newflash, Pack O' Lips .... most grads should have more reason to brag about academics than athletics, given that most grads didn't participate in athletics.
I admit, though, that I'd probably try the same deflection you did if I graduated from #106.

Another newsflash ... most fans of all major schools' athletics fall into the category of not attending, including your Aggies.

So am I to assume that anybody who falls below State in the holy USNWR ranking should be embarrassed of their education? What about #75, are they pathetic as well? Is anybody below #50 shameful, or is UNC the low-water mark? Cuz I can assure you of one thing, friend. UNC certainly isn't the high-water mark, and there's a lot of kids at Stanford, Notre Dame, MIT, Chicago, Northwestern, the entire Ivy League, and dozens of others who could spend their days looking down their noses at Carolina, but you know what? They don't, cuz they have better things to do with their lives. What's your excuse?

So your point is that academics are irrelevant? At a UNIVERSITY? Sir, education is what they do, their most important job.
And ivy leaguers can only look at us (down their noses or otherwise) because we work in the same office. We are off when the cleaning crew comes in or we would all look down at the State grads.

Yes sir, those super smart journalist majors at UNC are really looking down their noses at those bio-chemist at State. By the way, some cleaning crews make more money that some journalist. Also, due to the costs of schooling, staff, offices, insurance, etc, some of those doctors from UNC have to work 8-10 years to catch up with the earnings of some of those engineers from State.

Isn't State only the fourth best engineering school in the ACC? And that is what you brag about?

Sad.

Has anyone ever called you superficial? Told you you're overly concerned with appearances and social standing? You certainly seem to attach an awful lot of importance to what the USNWR thinks of your school, or what the WSJ thinks of your school, or the number of Rhodes Scholars affiliated with your school. It's a strange thing to be hung up on...

RE: 106th - acc lowest rated academic school now has company

Believe me, no one cares what UNCheat fans think about any of this. Your "academics" are now a _national_ joke.

RE: 106th - acc lowest rated academic school now has company

I really enjoy the unc fans telling us how bad we are as far as academics. I heard DG on the radio the other day informing us that unc, duke, wf and va were worried that louisville would not be able to match the above schools academics. I hope they don't match unc's. They don't have any. How can DG have the gall to say that, knowing many unc FB & BB players are not college material per Ms. Willingham's statements last week. I would say if you put their players in the same classroom as other schools players with an impartial instructor unc's would finish at the bottom of the class. I bet you about 70% of their players should not br in college.

You must be new to college sports.

If athletes had to meet the same admissions criteria as normal students at a given university, college athletics would cease to exist at a competitive level. Basketball players for UNC, Duke, and NC State have SAT scores that average in the 900s...and I'm sure other schools are the same way.

Well no actually you are wrong about that. College athletics would exist but given that it appears that generally the best athletes are average to below average when it comes to either the extent of effort they apply in the classroom or in their God given academic prowess, the schools that dominate on the field would simply be different. Junior Colleges like Louisburg, Wake Tech and Central Carolina Community College would have the best basketball teams. That 850-950 SAT would get that great running back into Fayetteville State or UNC-P. That is the way it really should be. Think about it!
