Sonny Dykes is the right man for the job

Sonny Dykes is the right man for the job

I truly believe this guy is the right man for the job. Look he has coached some great quarterbacks since he has been a college coach, the likes of Graham Harrell, Cody Hodges and among others this guy has proven he can turn quarterbacks into elite type of passers. And I also think he could recruit some great guys also, because i really believe the type of offense he runs attracts great recruits aka Oregon. I think if Debbie Yow hires him he is the right guy for the job.

RE: Sonny Dykes is the right man for the job

Just like TOB is(was) THE MAN?

RE: Sonny Dykes is the right man for the job

You totally missed my point. This guy is no where near TOB and in the first place I did not want TOB to begin with. This guy does not have a boring offense like TOB his team actually led the nation in points per game at 51 more than Oregon. and was first in total offense too! So no where near the level TOB was.

RE: Sonny Dykes is the right man for the job

Did TOB leave the program in a better place than when he got it???

The W/L records sure indicate as much!

Tough break, hansy the pansy!

Lol

Welcome to the board, she does that ALL the time!

All I am saying is that type of offense will get recruits noticing our program. Unlike TOB where it was such a boring acting scheme we had under Dana Bible. This type of offense would tear up defenses in the ACC. Because if you look at Clemson in what they do is very similar to what this guy does at Louisiana Tech.

The spread is the latest trend in college football, it's not like UNC invented the spread or was the first school to acquire it. And if you want to look at it your way, UNC copied ECU with their football coach and playing style.

If you want to get past the elementary stage of thinking, you can notice several differences in the spread styles of the two coaches. Personally, I'm more of a fan of Fedoras but I do love the power pistol formation Dykes runs. Not to mention, you can't get much better than the #1 offense in the country (while doing it with recruiting classes ranked in the 90's and 100's).

RE: Sonny Dykes is the right man for the job

I'm afraid we won't know if Sonny Dykes, or whoever State hires, is the right man for the job until 2-3 years after he's moved on. Will he leave behind a solid foundation for others to build on, or will they have to start over?
