I think maybe that is why Nutz is being so obtuse about this. This is the kind of idiocy that kept me away for a while. Not sure why I came back. There is nothing to gain from being here. I come here, put these people in their places, and they just keep coming back for more. Like whack-a-mole.

Maybe Nutz wants this place all to himself, so he and that other troll who I won't even name, just create countless stupid blogs. They know it drives the more intelligent people away.

Wow, some of y'all need to take a chill pill. Is it really that big of a deal to count how many seats are left empty in an arena that the men's team plays in no more than 1 or 2 times per season and usually at a time between class semesters? There are waaaay bigger fish to fry and counting ticket sales is all you got?

Yes, the SAME seats are available for sale to both men's and women's games. It is around 8-9K seats TOTAL now (not 12,400 like it used to be). That is what I am telling you. They do not sell those upper-level end zone seats because several rows of them are blocked.

    Are you really this dense?

Ok I finally gave in...I know your theory sounded ridiculous, any program willing to leave $$$ on the table is nuts...I didn't even think that NC sTate was that nuts.......so I called up the ticket office and asked.....are there tickets that are not for sale for men's games in Reynolds...as suspected they thought I was loonier than I am ... the answer "No sir, every seat in Reynolds is available for purchase for men and women's games...how many do you want???"

So as suspected it was Debbie Yow announcing a non sell out as a sell out to try to avoid the embarassment of not being able to sell out Reynolds for one of the greatest teams in recent Pack history..

    Next theory please

How was attendance exaggerated again? This is not the same thing. We don't sell those sections to ANY game, including the men's games.

This is very different from saying 3,000 in attendance is 30,000, like Carolina does with their football attendance figures. Especially to Spring games. The scary thing is there is no reason to lie about it, but they do anyway.

well indirectly you are confirming that NC State claimed a sellout when indeed it was far short of a sellout. So despite what TBK says, NC State can't even sell out a 8560 seat gym for a basketball game..... thanks.

Your argument as well as your cronies is weak - the reality is that all those sections in the linked pictures have fans in parts of them and are mainly empty - it was not a sell out, not sure why state fans can't admit it? Also it is relevant because this exact thing. (exaggerating of attendance) is what State fans claim UNC does. Pot kettle black - or are state fans so delusional nvmd

  • buckets112 Dec 10, 2012

the student section seating is raked at a steeper angle (and shorter) than it used to be so it blocks the view from the lower part of the end seating. they could probably still sell the upper parts of the ends though. i think nutz is starting to lean towards the sassie end of the spectrum now...too bad.

Sporty, those seats were closed off a couple years ago. The arena has been down-sized to about 8,500. Those end-zone seats are not sold anymore. You really are grasping at straws.

I love all those empty seats at Kenan. You can always get a ticket. If they ever sell out one of their "boosters" will sell and they have great seats.

  • TruthBKnown Banned Again01 Dec 10, 2012

I originally wrote 14K seats, but I think the number was actually 12,400 originally (I knew there was a 4 in there somewhere). But that seating changed when the ladies took over the building as their own. The end zone seating changed. And several rows of the upper level are now blocked by the lower-level end-zone seating. The building now officially seats 8-9K fans. It no longer seats 12,400, although it could. But there would be a few thousand fans upset because they can't see the game. :)

Keep trying, guys. You'll eventually find something on State. LOL

In the old days in Reynolds, people joked about there being seats where your view was of people who could see the court. Part of that was the way the seats were angled in the corners in the old days. They weren't quite that bad, but the design was nothing like any modern arena.

It is the truth. Nothing else needs to be said. We didn't SELL those seats. I don't know why they ruled out selling those entire sections. But I suspect it has to do with them not being available for sale at ANY game, including the lady Wolfpack games. It's just not an issue with them because they don't sell enough tickets for it to be noticeable.

What's funny is you thinking we'd have trouble selling those tickets to a legacy game in Reynold's Coliseum. LOL
