20 postings and 240 views. It's not difficult for me to write on this one at all. I could have written more. I have said several prayers for these little children, and all family members that will continue onward and try to do their best. These parents will have a hard time for the entire rest of their lives. Truth. We are fortunate that this situation didn't happen in our neighborhood.

True. There is no simple solution to stopping these type of people.

You thought about this one, and it only makes sense. Your last sentence wrapped it up. After VT in 2007, all Universities/Colleges stepped it up. Still. When a sick person wants to do this it's hard to stop it.

I wish at least four school employees were trained and proficient in the use of firearms and were armed in the facility. It should be kept secret who is armed so that no plans could be made against these people by attackers. The attackers know that schools are one of the few places that firearms are forbidden.

^^^Hovis. The elementary and middle schools are open prey for these sick people. High schools are the only ones that hire security. We used 4 security officers, and 1 paid policeman at one of my high school. Students, faculty, and all personnel are vulnerable to the max. He came in and it was shooting fish in a barrel.

Pretty sad when schools will need a Security officer in the elementary schools. I wish that the principal or teacher had a weapon to take him out. The law should change in this regard one day soon. This is happening all too often these days.

The mother should have done a better job of keeping the guns out of his hands. It's called a gun safe. Lock it up, and never, ever let your troubled, autistic kid know where you keep the key.

People need to be more vigilant. When there are warning signs that your kid is seriously troubled, don't ignore it and just hope it will go away.

    Too late now. Tragic.

    From listening to the news:

The shooter stole the guns from his mother.

The shooter had a form of autism.

The shooter had a personality disorder.

It is a sad situation all around.

He (apparently) was 20 years old and had some connection to the school. I believe he had spoken with the principal before this.

Prayers to the families and friends of the victims. What a horrific event, and just before Christmas, too.

While we argue and prod at each other over trivial things in fun on here, todays actions at an Elementary School in Conn bring the harsh reality that our society has decentigrated into a madness that has no measure. I for one am truly heart-broken over what for so many has become a very sad holiday season. Pack, Heels and Devils fans alike, please take a moment to pray today for those families who need support in this horrible horrible time.
