Wish I could have gotten in on Amway on the ground floor. Alas, I wasn't old enough to conduct business back then. Pyramid schemes are overrated these days. Now get back to taking calls, sassie.

5 years to get a degree to become a public servant. If I was your Dad, I'd have long since written you out of my will. Either that, or presented you with an invoice for the money wasted on your edumacation.

That is the difference between self made and mommy and daddy made. At some point mommy and daddy say time to stop playing school and shut off the funds.

I bet they are so proud telling their friends they still help, provide for you since your degree from UNCheat could not help you get a real job and you became a public servant living off the government making 30k.

If you weren't so worried, you wouldn't be in here constantly spouting off about how great that school down the road is when you don't even use your degree. One that took you 5 years to complete as well. Mommy and Daddy must be so happy about the return on investment.

It proves that more kids want to go to UNC than NC State. The actual admissions statistics (SAT scores, GPAs, etc) prove that State is a safety school for those who apply to UNC.

    Facts....gotta love 'em!

That doesn't prove that kids are using State as a fall back to not getting into UNCheat.

UNC gets vastly more applications than NC State, including more applications from kids within the state of North Carolina. Looks like more people want to go to UNC than State-

I cited one example that I actually know. You have no proof of your hundreds or thousands number, just that you want it to be true and that it is your opinion. Or do you work in the admissions dept of both schools? And how do you know that hundreds or even thousands of kids apply to both and get rejected by UNCheat and then go to State?

Where do you get this inside information.

  • chapelthrillv2 Dec 23, 2012

Cool. One person. Compared to the hundreds, if not thousands, who apply to both schools each year only to be turned down by UNC. Gotcha.

You can have your opinion, but it is short sighted and limited based on your views.

I know a young lady that has no inclination for engineering or journalism and her GPA is over a 4.5 and she has applied to State and not UNC. And there are more.

Your arrogant attitude is very typical and exactly why your University is in the position they are in right now.

There are thousands and thousands of students attending schools all over North Carolina who could have applied to UNC and been accepted but didn't. That is just how it works and is factual.

  • chapelthrillv2 Dec 23, 2012
    Sports Legend

    View quoted thread

Easy. NC State is considered to be a safety school for those who have the stats to get into UNC. For those who have the stats to get into State but maybe not UNC, UNC is considered to be a reach. Both schools are part of the UNC system, and unless you want to major in something specialized that another school may not have (like engineering at State or journalism at UNC), you want to go to the best state school that you can get into. The best overall school in the UNC system is obviously UNC-Chapel Hill.

I know dozens of people who either go or went to NC State. The vast majority of them (aside from the engineers) either applied to UNC and didn't get in, or didn't apply to UNC because they knew that they didn't stand a chance. That's just the way it works.

Well ,w e know you are either a fireman or policeman. That you have already admitted.

And how do you know all of these folks that you accuse of not getting into UNCheat, applied prior to attending State? I know at least 20 kids at our HS who have applied to State and have no desire to apply to UNCheat.
