Rivers, and Norv Turner

RE: Rivers, and Norv Turner

You got that right Pride. Just think that Rivers is overrated, and TOB made a mistake with the handling of Russell Wilson.

RE: Rivers, and Norv Turner

This thread reeks of dumb. Do you watch NFL football? I can see some blame falling on Turner. He's the head coach, after all. But blaming Rivers? That's just dumb. You don't have to look much farther than the San Diego offensive line to figure out what's wrong with that team. They made up for being bad at run blocking by being atrocious at pass blocking. It didn't help that their laughing stock of a GM let their best receiver leave via FA either. Gates is old and slow, Meachem and Floyd are never able to get separation (even against mediocre cornerbacks), Royal can't run routes (believe me, I'm a Broncos fan), Brown broke his leg before the season started, and Alexander only emerged at the end of the season. Rivers didn't look good this season, but it's not because he lacks talent.

RE: Rivers, and Norv Turner

Who's fault was it when Rivers had all that talent? Gate's when he was young, LT, Jackson, etc. I remember when there defense was tops in the league. Rivers has had a lot of turnovers the last few years. Not to mention the chargers play in a very weak AFC west. Bronco you have to agree that ROMO/RIVERS are similar? Alot of talent around them, and nothing to show for it but STATS! I'm not saying its all Rivers fault, but over forty turnovers by your QB dont help things.Speaking of talent, you dont need much to win the AFC west. I think you guys were 8-8, and won your conference last year.

RE: Rivers, and Norv Turner

I think you just proved my point. In the years where Rivers had an O-line and talent around him, he performed great (go ahead, look it up). I will agree that Romo and Rivers are similar, they both have talent and no O-line. It's hard to complete passes when you're constantly scrambling, getting hit or on your back. I also wouldn't use last years Broncos as an example of anything other than a good defense.
