Russell Wilson has earned the POY as a Rookie.

RE: Russell Wilson has earned the POY as a Rookie.

Since Wilson and his team are now moving forward vs Luck and RG3, I think it gives him a slight edge. I do believe that RG3 is a tad better than Wilson in some respects, but Wilson showed something to this team in leadership, and he made some huge plays to overcome the odds. Plus being a 3rd rounder, it only enhances what the pundants missed about his desire, leadership ability, and simply thinking himself to make solid plays. I'm not a Pete Carroll fan either.

Get what you're saying, Hokie, but the ballots were cast prior to the playoffs. Based on that, I'm sticking with RG3 as the fav. If they waited until after the playoffs, RW would be a slam dunk at this point. Whether it's Luck, RG3 or RW, the player selected will be very deserving.

I didn't realize this. I would have thought that it would based upon the entire body of work. POY is Peyton Manning. ROY is perhaps RG3. Wilson close. I think that it should be decided after all games are played.

Agreed about when it should be decided....after the season. That would be the common sense way of handling things. As it is now, Peyton for POY & RG3 for ROY.

We agree Battling. No one is in front of Manning--for sure.

Duke needs to improve in rebounding and FT's. When they get a few more percentages in these two areas they can roll. UNC is maybe between 4-6 best team in the ACC. Look out for MD. UVA is coming on too. I would select MD right beside NC State right now. State is over-rated. MD wins one more game and they will be ranked.

Agreed, Hokie! I still think State has the potential to do good things. They're very balanced on offense. Leslie is playing well but I saw something in the BC game that needs to be addressed for the sake of the team. Late in the game on a couple of occasions, Gott appeared to be "drawing up a play" & I noticed on each occasion that Leslie seemed to be disinterested, looking around the BC arena, etc. That would annoy me as a coach. Close game, still have a chance to win & ALL players need to be listening to their coach. Looks bad! IMO

^^^ Battling. I agree about Leslie. He has the talent and skills. Howell is getting the most ink right now. His double doubles are really strong. Leslie probably doesn't like all of this stuff.
