I luv....really LUV.... how our banners continue to cause such consternation and whimpering among the ABC crowd. Now we can add a billboard to that list.

    #WINNING! lmbao

Yep, this game is maybe more important than the Duke game was.

In GT, State proved they could win a trap game (last game before #1 Duke).

In #1 Duke, State proved they could beat a great team.

In Maryland, State has an opportunity to prove they can win a hangover game.

    GO PACK!!! GIT 'R DONE!!!

Preseason ranking really dont mean that much, but only for the sports writer, fans & hater such as yourself, but they should not be a ranking poll until at least Jan. or Fed in my opinion.. \

As far as State getting respect, well, they started earning that last mid Fed. and the ACC tournament, NCAAs, continuing into this season.

I'm looking forward to the rematch and to the battles between Jabari, hood and cook vs tj warren and purvis next year. Glad the pack is back at the top with us.

They won't win, but It wouldn't matter anyway.

The Flagship has 6 National Titles, dating back to 1924.

I don't see state college tripping over themselves to give The Flagship any respect whatsoever.

I reckon what comes around, goes around.

Yep...I was looking at their numbers, etc., & they've only had one bad game. It happens. They played the Wolverines tough on the road; currently have a 10 game winning streak. Point is, if State's players aren't convinced they can hang by now, it ain't gonna happen. Just need to keep working hard as a team & playing within themselves...knowing & accepting their individual roles. Play team ball & they'll go far.

You lose alot after this season, if it`s back to the lower tier next year
    were you really "Back"??

I say NEXT year will be a better measuring stick for seeing if the pack is actually back. Sustain atleast upper level with new players will prove more so that the pack is indeed back.

For those who understand hoops & that whole competitive spirit thing, your answer is yes. At this point in the season, State does appear to be back. TB, the critics will always be there. Your 'Pack is 14 - 2, 3 - 0 in ACC play & in 1st place, currently ranked 14th/15th in the land. Looks rock solid to me.

When it comes to critics who refuse to acknowledge the obvious, I do believe Bobby Knight said it best. Good luck against the Terps. :)

i have already seen the Pack getting more respect...they have shown more Pack games on tv than i can recall, this early in the season...i watched the Pack/St Bonnie game on tv..that would have never happened in years past...i have seen multiple non-conf games against opponents that would have NEVER made it on tv in yrs prior...why, b/c the Pack has generated excitement and interest, and being ranked does have its privileges....they dont need to win an ncaa title, but they could be in the running...depth is a problem, so avoiding injuries is key

Agree with everything you wrote. Then why do we keep arguing with them when they keep insisting we're not relevant? When they start to argue, taunt, denigrate, or whatever, why don't we just leave them to talk to themselves? Nobody likes to argue with themselves. What if they started a fight and we didn't show up?

  • TruthBKnown Banned Again01 Jan 15, 2013

State already has respect. State is already relevant.

If a team plays above its head for a few games, it doesn't necessarily get respect. But State has the recruiting, the coaching, and we're winning games by playing "OUR GAME". We're not playing over our heads. We're playing to the ability of our great recruits that we've gotten over the last couple of years.

    We're already back.

There is no need for this blog.

No, they do not. Another good showing in the NCAA's will garner them even more respect. They have some good players, but are not a Championship (NCAA) team. If their bench was deeper, then things would be different. That is not a slight on them, just the facts.

  • FAN72 Jan 15, 2013

Respect is earned on the court. Winning a NCAA title would help, but I think a new found respect for the WolfPack has already started among the non haters in the ACC. There are several well respected teams in the nation who have never won a National Title, just as there are several well respected coaches who have never led a team to the NCAA title game.

Heck. Let's just give it to State after they beat Duke. Does anyone think that State isn't going to lose a few soon? Come on folks. Damm. State beat Duke. Go back and read the title again. State will lose a game soon. Some State fans have eaten this one up too soon. Be humble. Relish in the wins. That's all.

Personally, I think that State is having a great season, and that their days of chronic irrelevance may be fading away. I'm happy for the Pack. Unfortunately, some of their fans seem to think that NC State's return to relevance means that they can talk smack to UNC at will now, even though they haven't beat us or accomplished anything of note in years now. I'm very happy to set those fans straight. :)
