Oops... nevermind... apparently CJL never even left the PRACTICE facility, to accomodate NBC's request for his appearance.

http://video.today.msnbc.msn.com/today/50468254#50468254wow, yeah... that 134 seconds probably left him WELL BEHIND, when it comes to getting ready for Md.

LOL @ the duke fan, WISHING for a State loss.... 2 cute!

Duke fans are just upset that they lost, and they really think Kelly can guard CJL. Duke has never rushed the court after a regular season win! I recall them rushing the court after K gave the ref's there paychecks!

such arrogance, from these dukies... surprising, given how they just got MANHANDLED by the league's best team.

Yeah, i see your point and I agree with it. And it is a compliment to Duke. Not upset about the attention but rather the arrogance, but I see what you're saying.

just the part about none of those coming with a BANNER at the end....

there's a LONG way to go... 18 games this season.... but, 3-0 with a win over the 2nd best team in the league doesn't suck :)

  • Just.B.Cause Jan 15, 2013

Whenever you beat a Duke BB team (especially when they are #1) you are going to get attention. See it for what it is BD00...a sign of how respected Duke is as a program.

You can also say "act like you've been there before" but let's be honest, everyone knows we have not "been there" in over 2 decades. Over-exhuberence? Maybe. But I would rather see this than another 10-12 ranking in the ACC.

And for many many many many many years there have been players on State's roster that could not be managers at Duke.

I agree, act like you have been there before.

I have kept pretty quiet this year regarding NC State hoops as it is nice to see them come back a little. But your arrogance and kockiness is a little much. You havent done squat in 20+ years and you are acting like this success is normal.

    Be a little humble.

LOL, then by all means, "been there before"... do explain when an incident of this magnitude, invovling a handicapped kid happened following a duke game... during a duke game, or even remotely close to a duke game???

you have NO comparison.... but, you're clearly still irked by the REALITY, that no one on your roster can cover CJL, and are thus left feeling a bit "small" about all the attention he's so DESERVEDLY receiving.

it isn't even basketball related... perhaps that will help you digest it better.

Think about what you just said. A Duke fan jealous of the attention NC State is getting? Seriously?

We've already beaten Kentucky, Ohio State, and Louisville among others in nationally broadcasted games. Even our games against teams like Santa Clara will show up on ESPNU. We've gotten all the attention we need, and we're 15-1, 7-1 vs RPI Top-50.

I said I was happy for State. I'm glad that program is back to where it was in the '80s. I love having all 3 triangle teams be competitive. I've just never seen a team react to a regular season win the way State did (esp when you're picked #1 in the ACC and are ranked in the top-20). You know that whole phrase, "act like you've been there before"? Well, it applies here.

  • FAN72 Jan 15, 2013

The interview was about rescuing the wheelchair fan, not about the win over Duke.
Is Coach Gottfried suppose to turn down interviews with the national media? Seems to me that said interviews are part of the job of a head coach and good for attracting future recruits.

It is doubtful that Coach Gottfried's interviews have distracted his attention from the Maryland game. He even mentioned the importance of the Maryland game in his on court post game interview Saturday afternoon.

    LOL

somebody's jealous that the ATTENTION just won't go away....

what was CJL supposed to do, TURN DOWN an interview on the TODAY SHOW, in which he was being quasi "honored"???

please... it's half a day... he'll just meet up with the team today in Md, and nothing will have been missed.

sit back down, and tuck that envy away as you do.

    it's hardly becoming.

CJL on The Today Show this morning. Gottfried doing interviews with national news media all week. I wonder if NC State has prepared for Maryland at all, or simply celebrating the Duke win for the rest of the season.

Happy for State, but this is taking it to a new level. In reality, it was 1 conference game. And no excuses, but a healthy Kelly and Curry MAY have made a difference. We'll see in the rematch.

So very sad that the one Maryland fan tries desperately to create a cheer by himself. I imagine it was rather difficult for him to do the clapping while holding onto that soup can with the string attached. Are you and the neighbor having fun in your play forts?

He was right, EweNC probably needs to be at the bottom of the conference, not midpoint.
