No there aren't any. I'm not seeing us make any excuses.

I am not saying that you are making any. This loss is a head scratcher. Maryland should have lost by 20+.

the refs let them play, and MD took advantage of it... outside of Howell and CJL, State's players don't do well with contact during their shots (Purvis isn't bad, but he's still too hesitant to drive). it was more of a wrestling match than a basketball game, but you have to be able to adjust... State just doesn't have the bodies to throw out there (md played 10 guys)....

it is what it is... 1 L in an 18 game schedule... put it behind ya.

I will let you know the line once Bobo gets it. I think he will have state kollege favored again but we will have to wait and see....lololol

State has tons of talent on that team, starting with Brown at PG. If KM had returned to UNC for one more season, the Heels would be a much better team. State should not have lost to Maryland tonight, especially after beating Duke. Good teams can come back from emotional wins and play their best on any given night. That is why, I do not believe this is an NCAA Championship quality team. They can get better, but do not seem to have that Champions mentality. Gott should have gotten in their grills at HT and told them to play like they are capable. This is on the coaches and the players tonight!

Very poor coaching job by Gott-fired. He should have had them fouling at the end sicne somehow they only had 3 fouls with less than 2 minutes left. Imagine that....lololol

yep, they should have used the advantage they had and fouled Howard on the drive to the baseline...it would have left a couple of seconds, on an inbounds, to shoot, easier to defend...Gott needs to learn from this one, 2

As you said, the refs let them play, and i think that heavy, unchecked physicality was a bit new to this team. There are no excuses... a team must adjust to the ref style on the court. BUT i think this game might actually be a blessing in disguise for that reason.... now that this squad has had a taste of the "hands off" refs, Gott can work on coaching the team for the next time.... which most likely will not occur until the ncaa's.

All in all a good experiencein the long run. Better to see it now than to hit it cold with some Big East crew in the tournament.

State still leads the Country in shooting. They had an off night in shooting. Len played his part in this win.
