At what point did you read me blame the refs for State's loss? That reading comprehension bothering you again? Yes, NCSU had 23 PF and WFU had 21 and that equals 44 fouls in one game called by over zealous refs in a game between two teams not known for being particularly physical. The refs need to let the players from all ACC teams play -- it's more fun for the players and more fun for the fans.
And, let me repeat for the reading challenged, "Wake won because they scored more points. It's that simple. Wake played harder and smarter in the second half -- congrats to them!" I did not blame the refs for last night's loss. Just commenting on the Joe Ovies comment.

I have been reading since last night on the State/WF game. Thomas played his heart out last night and he was the difference in this game. Not one player..including Howell could stop him. The game was called evenly by the officials on both teams.
Joe Ovies didn't slant State/WF in this one. When a team blows a 16 point lead...then you know the rest of the story.

Of the 44 fouls 23 were call against state and 21 against WF. While the amount of fouls called may be excessive, it was apparently called evenly. WF just had more depth to withstand foul trouble.

LOL, too bad for the Fat1, the TIME STAMPS PROVE that I wrote my post BEFORE TBK came in here blaming the officials.

^ That bunch of guys in stripes called 44 fouls -- in one game. One game that lasted almost 2.5 hours without overtime. Ridiculous. ACC Refs are out of control -- not just during NCSU games, but all ACC games.
ACC over-officiating aside, Wake won because they scored more points. It's that simple. Wake played harder and smarter in the second half -- congrats to them!

Now, do you really think I (or anyone else, for that matter) cares about what you or your little playmate does? Get a grip, man!

"Teams normally lose when it is 8-against-5.
I don't always blame the refs. The refs didn't cost us the games against Ok St., Michigan, or even Maryland.
But last night, the officiating was horrendous. I knew it was over when they called one particular charge on State. The Wake player was standing there, arms straight up (rule of verticality), waiting for the charge. Our guy (Lo maybe?) drove in and collided with him and they called the charge.
The problem is the Wake player lowered BOTH arms about 30 degrees forward, into our shooter, before the body "charge" contact was made. That makes it no longer a charge, but a foul on the defense. It was an EASY call to make, and they called it wrong. That told me it was 8 against 5 last night.
Just when I was beginning to feel a little better about the ACC officiating. Oh well, it's over now. On to Saturday. Hope they let us play in THAT game since they stole this one from us.
