Perhaps hans could clear that up for you.

Hans, could you tell the man why you're a State fan?

Why anyone would want to be a state kollege fan is more puzzling to me.

If I were a packnopride member, I would be ashamed of the sheet they are posting on their redraginghaterboard. Their leader seems to be Dr.Yow. I guess she approves of their behavior. I'm just waiting to see what they do next.

Boo Hoo Hoo. This ain't nursery school. Maybe someone should offer Leslie a pacifier as a show of support. If these bozos can't handle a little criticism when they're stinking it up, then they're in the wrong business. The dude's points about always blaming the ref sand acting like State is better than everyone else (why anyone would do that is beyond me) are spot on, though.

Much of this is dead on. Especially the part about underestimating any team. This is particularly true with respect to conference play. I did not see the " make fun of wake forest" thread, but would certainly agree that the attitude behind it, if shared by the State team, was a recipe for disaster. Similarly, "blaming the refs" in any wholesale way is counter-productive... There will always be questionable calls... even flat-out, blatently blown calls. But mature teams adjust where necessary to reffing styles, and don't spend much time thinking about the call that should or should not have been made.

Having said all that, this post is "reasonable" in large part because of the underlying premise that this team is imperfect, and will lose at least some games in spite of effort. Every loss does not necessitate either excusez or blame.

Finally.... items 2) and 3) as well as the second sentence beneath run directly counter to any notion that the OP is "hans-esque". The OP is clearly a fan, and argues directly against trashing players and for "offer(ing)
our coaches and team our support".

    These are clearly not "hans-isms".

I find it funny that you people are comparing Hans to the guy who posted this. If he was anything like that guy he would quote "show our team support", instead of being down on NC State 24/7. It's true our team isn't as amazing as what some "fringers" say we are, and there are a lot of areas that need work. But we do have good qualities and those should be celebrated, and true fans would.

To the first post, I will say this. I believe the fans do show support for their team and for the players. They do that every game. However, some blame can be justified when your team loses to a team they should have beat on paper due to things that can be improved. Whether it is bad coaching, a blown call or players not playing to their ability some blame can be thrown around. You really think its helping your the team by saying "Hey guys its ok you lost to a Physically and skillfully inferior opponent because you decided not to play defense. We still love you."? I think some blame is necessary although I do agree there is a lot that is excessive. And we always support our team, thats never a question.

I'll be doing Saturday what most NC STATE fans do for every game and forget what happened in the past and support the team against whoever they are playing. I won't be talking about all the negatives of our team like others do and being down on our team. That's not support. I will say Go Pack!!! like I always do, and hope for the best. After, I'll celebrate the win, or be angry Saturday night, then look forward again.

Good Luck to you Blue Trolls Saturday. GO PACK!!!

    Wolfpack football and basketball.

    1) If we lose, we didn't really lose, it was just lousy refs
    2) If we lose, we blame the coaches
    3) If we lose, we blame the players

Always playing the blame game. Would be nice if, once, just once, we would stop blaming everybody and offer our coaches and team support. We haven't won much for the last twenty years. Our teams have to crawl before they can walk, will have to learn how to win. That takes time. You don't instantly transform a program the way many seem to think. There will be many ups and downs, maybe for a couple of years or so. Even then, you can't take anything for granted. This board talks about other teams being "lesser" teams. That attitude is the mark of losers and shows no class. A good example was the thread mocking Wake Forest before the game. Right now, neither Wake Forest nor Maryland are "lesser" teams. They both beat us, and that is what determines who is better, at least for that particular game. Maybe, just maybe, if we start with a little humility and show a little class, that will translate to the team and help our players. JMHO
