7 minutes to go and obvious State will win the game.
No excuses, State came ready to play and rattled our young players early. After that it was a slaughter.
If State played like they did against Dook and UNC, they would probably be the #1 team in the country.

Congrats on breaking the losing streak.

I was actually glad to see Carolina play so well in the second half. They scored on nearly every offensive possession, and State scored enough to hang on for the win. I think State will benefit from this kind of win more than they would have with the 40 point win that appeared to be in the making midway through the second half.

Carolina is getting better. I'm not too excited at the thoughts of playing them later, after more improvement, and in their building.

Wow...you guys were up for this one. You guys jumped on us early and didn't let up until later when you let us save face.

If you guys can just imagine every opponent left on your schedule is UNC or Duke...you guys should make the final four.

I'll be pulling for you guys to beat Miami...we can't let them win the ACC

Yep. As Ovies pointed out on WRAL this morning, when we got the 28 point lead, we started settling for jumpshots. Should have kept attacking inside. THAT, IMHWPO, is what led to UNC's run to cut the lead to nerve-racking suspense near the end.

Agree, but that was only part of the problem. Carolina went through a LONG stretch where they either didn't miss, or they missed, but put back the rebound for a score. That had nothing to do with State not attacking on offense. That just hindered State's ability to keep matching Carolina's scoring.

It was a game of two halves the way I saw it. State ran the floor hard, passed the ball, and moved the ball to the open shooter. Loads of fast baskets from a missed shot or rebound led to the beat down in the 1st half. They didn't play with similar intensity in the 2nd half. UNC creeped back in, and made it a game. State came close to blowing 28 points. Too much talent to allow this IMO. Gott needs to give some a few more minutes. Build the bench. Build it with a few minutes here and there.
