Is this now a successful season for State - beating both UNC and Dook at home?

RE: Is this now a successful season for State - beating both UNC and Dook at home?

Yes.

Parade details and plans to rename the PNC "Gottfried Plaza" coming soon.

Gottfried's Pizza has a nice ring to it. He should open a place or two.

How can we know if it is a successful season when there are 11 more conference games, then the ACC tournament, then the NCAA tournament, left to be played?

Please stop this childish line of questioning. Beating Carolina and/or Duke does not a successful season make.

Oh man, do I miss Godfather's Pizza!

I try to hit that place every time we're at Myrtle Beach. They have one down there.

Don't kid yourself, state fan, if you say beating unc and duke isn't a big deal. You've been the doormat in this state for over 30 years now, so it is a big deal. It's just like state football. You're more interested in beating unc than anything else.

Oh, it's a big deal to beat your rivals. You guys jump through bonfires on Franklin Street whenever you beat Duke (regardless of the rankings). No one ever said it wasn't important. But it's not worthy of rushing the court when they're barely getting poll votes, much less ranked. And beating a bad UNC team does not make this a successful season.

Exactly. I'm saying, to some it is a successful season because at the end it, that's what you'll be hanging your hat on if things go south in the tournament. Why? Because beating your big brothers is always something to talk about.

Exactly -- the way Carolina is with Duke. And the way Carolina was with beating State in football this year. They won their Superbowl.

When you exit from the dance, you hang your hat on your other achievements. Beating your rivals counts. We know how important that is to Carolina, too, because you guys are constantly reminding us how long the streak was.

Just don't insult anyone's intelligence by pretending it is any different for you.
