States bench is maturing

RE: States bench is maturing

I think Tyler Lewis is key for State down the stretch. Like it or not, when State is in foul trouble, they don't have many options. I don't know Lewis's game because I didn't follow him in high school or anything like that. I remember at the beginning of the season he tried to drive to the basket on several occasions unsuccessfully and got yelled at. I'm assuming he's talented because he was an All-American. Hope he figures out his role soon.

RE: States bench is maturing

Lewis is a great passer and good ball handler. It seems he is being held back somewhat. He does need to stay out of the trees. I do agree that his development is the most critical of the bench.

and growing stronger and deeper. I feel like come march they will look real good and play a lot more and more like a team. The fast pace the coach has the team playing at right now is wearing the starting 5 down some what. As the year progresses the bench will grow stronger and all will be fit for the title run in march.

He is using more players than normal this year. That's probably partially due to the Kelly injury, and partially hoping to put an end to the early flame-outs in March.

No, he was playing 8 men before Kelly went down. Thornton does get more minutes due to Curry's situation but even when Kelly was healthy, he was averaging 28 mpg and Hairston and Jefferson primarily subbed in for Mason and Kelly. A much different situation than NC State.

Definitely different that State. State's rotation is more like dook's in almost any previous year.

2011-12 8 averaging at least 12mpg
2010-11 8 averaging at least 17mpg
2009-10 8 averaging at least 12.6mpg
2008-09 9 averaging at least 12mpg

Just cut your losses.

Maybe we can see a full 8 years of dookie stats.

That way, we can associate those with 7 years of NCAA flameout correlation.
