it was a culture shock for our players over at the pnc. they've never played anywhere that kids get tossed out of wheelchairs and trampled on,fans urinating in the stands, coaches date female students,former players get tossed,every other word is a cuss word, and a midget running around yelling broncos.

I would have preferred to keep pouring it on for a 40+ point win.

But I agree that we wouldn't have learned anything from that. So I'm glad we let up on the gas so they could come back. It made it interesting, and it kept our heads on straight. :)

Like I stated on another thread, I think it was a stroke of Gott genius to pull back on the throttle for the final fifteen minutes. If not it would have been at least a 40 to 45 point win and that would have been pure bulletin board material for the rematch over at the Hole.
My only critique would be that he almost did it too soon and nearly allowed carolina to snatch a W away from him. However with the heels shooting about 20% up til then I can see why he would have made that mistake.

Yep. The only problem (and it isn't a REAL problem) is that their fans get to take solace in the final score not reflecting the beatdown that it was. But that's ok. We have bigger goals in mind for this season than settling for a curb-stomping of a bad team that happens to be a rival.
