Yep, and NCSU remembered who they were and UNC remembered who they were towards the end. Amazing how one victory in the last 14 makes a success of the decade for you Red Rage Cultists. BTW, you were supposed to win. Look at the age diff. Again, quit posting if you want to look smarter because everytime you do we are reminded of the massive deficiency that is ToolSAC. I guess it's hard to act like you've been there when you haven't been there in such a long time.

it was a culture shock for our players over at the pnc. they've never played anywhere that kids get tossed out of wheelchairs and trampled on,fans urinating in the stands, coaches date female students, former players get tossed, every other word is a cuss word, and a midget running around yelling broncos.

Yep. The only problem (and it isn't a REAL problem) is that their fans get to take solace in the final score not reflecting the beatdown that it was. But that's ok. We have bigger goals in mind for this season than settling for a curb-stomping of a bad team that happens to be a rival.

And State will still have more talent next year. Returning Warren, Purvis, and the 2 top recruits they have got so far is really going to suck. State will be loaded for the next several years at least, if not more. Yeah, 16-4 and top 20 ranking is doing nothing, where is UNC ranked?

    Hardly.

I know your coach said he doesn't care about learning, only playing, but with all sincerity, I assure you that some of the best learning potential derives from mistakes. [cue Sissy: "lolol gaffaww.. I bet you lernned eberythins from mistakies.. lolol gaffaww"]This game provided some good insight as to what to avoid/not do. What allowed the comeback? Lack of concentration and/or hustle? Over confidence? Less cohesion as a team? ..ect ect..

-- How could they have nipped it in the bud earlier? What did the coaches learn about how they could improve their game-time performance? A lot can be learned. I'm sure they've studied the tape and noticed a lot of things that can be improved on. There's a LOT of food for thought.

I had some fun with the post.. but it's a serious point about learning and growing from mistakes made, that will facilitate the team's improvement in future performances.

The Cheats have helped State become a better team. And for that I thank you.

Like I stated on another thread, I think it was a stroke of Gott genius to pull back on the throttle for the final fifteen minutes. If not it would have been at least a 40 to 45 point win and that would have been pure bulletin board material for the rematch over at the Hole.
My only critique would be that he almost did it too soon and nearly allowed carolina to snatch a W away from him. However with the heels shooting about 20% up til then I can see why he would have made that mistake.

I would have preferred to keep pouring it on for a 40+ point win.

But I agree that we wouldn't have learned anything from that. So I'm glad we let up on the gas so they could come back. It made it interesting, and it kept our heads on straight. :)

I think the terdholes not completely lying down the entire game was a good thing for State.

Sure, it was fun and good pour-it-on practice for most of the game, but without the maniacal play from the cheats to save at least some face, State wouldn't had much game material to learn from.

In the press conference Roy Williams, surprisingly, said he doesn't care about learning. Of course, all good coaches feel that way, not.

However, in his post-game interview, Scott Wood said that he himself does care about learning from games, and I think the course of events in this game will help State continue to learn what they need to do to improve.

The way it played out should: --help keep them on point for the next game, -- increase their confidence that they can step up and hit foul shots to close out a game, --help them learn what they need to do to keep big leads and finish off a team.

I'm sure there's more positives that can be gleaned from how the game went than what I listed. What's for sure though, a beat-down for 40 minutes wouldn't have provided much material to learn from, it would been only a lot of fun. For 3/4 of a game, sure, we had lots of fun, but the last 1/4 provided value beyond pure fun.

So, thanks Cheats for not lying down like a dead fish for the whole game, the flopping around at the end like a fish merely out of water will really help State improve it's overall game, leading to even greater success in the future.
