I don't think so. In past years, schools have had recruits sit at midcourt, in the dark, then start playing music and a video that shows that kid driving down the court, shooting a long jumper at the buzzer to win the game. The announcer even says his name in the video, as if he's calling the game on the radio or TV. Cool stuff.

I don't think showing him on the Jumbotron is a violation, in and of itself. They show fans all the time. However, if they displayed his NAME along with his video image, that could be considered "introducing him" which IS a violation (I believe). But if he's sitting behind the bench, and the camera was on the bench, and you could see him there (but with no name displayed), good luck making a case that it is an NCAA violation.

But the NCAA should look into this, by all means. They don't give a rat's behind about academic rules being broken, but heaven forbid someone show a recruit on a TV screen. But hey NCAA, check it out anyway. I don't want State breaking rules, either.

Haters do what they do. Hate.
    -
They're going to hate it too when Julius takes them to school.
[Which will be a new experience for UNCheat athletes]

The governor has started a special inquiry into violations also. John Edwards is in charge of this. We have serious concerns also that a booster bought him a state college tee shirt from Kmart! As you all know Kmart is headquarters for wolfers gear.

    Let me paraphrase for everyone:

"It was real cool and everyone was real cool. And I met old granny Yow and she showed me her cat. It was all cool and all. Yep, what a cool place. I mean, it was real cool."

Yeah, that's a good point, Ken. Sometimes we forget the goal of some recruits is to get to the NBA as quickly as possible.

Was there any mention of the recruiting violations? Showing his picture on the video board or having him meet Thompson.

The NCAA is looking into this.

If he wants to be one and done, I don't think he'll choose State. He'll want a bigger stage to display his game for NBA scouts.

Good info. Hopefully he will sign and make us strong next year in front court.

Losing Howell and Leslie will hurt.

If TBK had his hand in Randle's visit, I'm sure the sell was waaay too hard on the kid. Sorry, TBK, but I think you would scare him away. :)

How many years did that last? 2 or 3? Less? I think he was talking about more serious academic problems that we KNOW have been going on at UNC since, I believe, 1997.

I agree with you that Howell is a class act. Randle would be huge and theres no reason to think its not possible for him to come. Maybe hes waiting to see how many players are leaving early from Kentucky before he makes his decision. Just looked at draft express. Very impressive for State. 5 players in the top 65 in the 2013 draft. Warren was right behind Leslie which was a little shocking!

Randle would be one of the best hs recruits for state I can remember. That is a big get. Here is hoping he ends up in raleigh and battles with Jab Parker.

I'm going to miss Howell for a number of reasons. He's a good man. Yet, I think Randle could pick up right where Richard left off.

    Anyone care to call it?

My vote: I say he's a WolfPacker next year.

    Will Julius join the Family?

    Yes: 1
    No: 0

The NCAA investigated and found where article was sold. So if that is the same as make believe classes then we understand each other. Have a nice day!

Jimmy V was the master at this concept! Then again look at how much trouble State has been in over the years! Not surprising!

It's hard to recruit against schools that do not require athletes to attend class. But we are getting better at it!

Who knows where he will end up, but it sounds like he sure had a good visit to NC State.
