Patience Patience Patience
- Posted by BOHICAmy attitude is based on obsevations from the most basic of techniques...watching the game....and i dont see how you can talk about patience, since you have had little, to no, adversity with K at the helm...when he was hired, it was common practice to be patient..i'd like to see how patient duke fans would be if duke went to the nit, or had a couple losing seasons...i would say they would melt down just like heel fans did in 2010, and lose patience quite quickly...the most recent example of duke facing adversity resulted in Gaudet being banished from the "family", never to be seen again- Posted by MoDuke v2- Posted by Unc r Hypocritslots of season left, but the Pack has shown disturbing trends at crunch time, over and over(all the way back to the 3rd unc game last yr, and the kansas game in the sweet 16)...dumb,unforced turnovers, idiotic, senseless fouls, crucial missed free throws, pizz-poor defense allowing layups and follow-shots, etc...the cerebral part of the game seems to be lacking...not holding for the last shot when its available, not using fouls-to-give when they have the advantage, getting frantic under pressure and making all types of mental mistakes...i havent seen any improvement in these areas, as they have shown themselves in all 4 close conference losses...every one....one close loss , no biggie...2 close losses, a coincidence...4 close losses are a pattern, and i have seen the same things occur in ALL the losses...not happy , at all, about this game- Posted by duane11
Give Gott a chance, Duane. Remember, he is still using mostly players he did not recruit. Even TOB had to get rid of about 30 of Amato's problems before the mindset changed. What Gott has done in less than 2 years is amazing, to me. We're playing better after just 1 year than we played ANY of Lowe's seasons. It takes time.
Unfortunately Tommy these attitudes are a product of our drive thru microwave society. It took coach K several years to turn Duke back around. I would contend that he was arguably the best hire ever in college coaching and imagine where Duke would have probably been today if Butters hadn't displayed a little patience.
I lived through the Bucky Waters era so, yeah, I know adversity. Gotta give Gott three or four years then re-evaluate.
