I guess we've found out WHO is capable of running the point...

i'm not saying to fire him, and im not sure why someone cant voice there logical opinion without so many reactionaries equating this to wanting to fire the coach..no one can find any post of mine where i called for Gott to be fired..i am actually putting most of the blame on the players.....i am saying i'm not looking thru red-colored glasses, so i cant get all giddy about close losses..its time to win games, and fork excuses

Gott is fine. He's got"t" plenty of time.

I lived through the Bucky Waters era so, yeah, I know adversity. Gotta give Gott three or four years then re-evaluate.

Why don't you tell us another LIE about Scott Wood, Duane??
You're clearly not playing with a full deck.
Let's hear it, cuh!

Foster left Duke because he couldn't (using his words) continue the level of recruiting that had landed the likes of Sparnarkle, Gminski, Banks, and Dennard. Harrell and Bender transfered in and were great additions but he couldn't follow it up with quality recruits. Except for one year of Banks and Dennard on the team, coach K had little talent to compete with. This was his second year team roster. look at the household names on that team. Should have been at least a final four squaud for sure. LOL
Vince Taylor, Chip Engelland, Tom Emma, Doug McNeely, Daniel Meagher, Greg Wendt, Allen Williams, Michael Tissaw, Todd Anderson, Jay Bryan, Ned Franke, Richard Ford
Wonder what disaster ol' Roy would have compared that team to?

After reading most of these today, I would surmise that some would like to hang Coach Gott. Just think back to the days of Lowe. Then. You have the answer. He was lucky to come out of the booth too. He hs won a bunch of games too.

my attitude is based on obsevations from the most basic of techniques...watching the game....and i dont see how you can talk about patience, since you have had little, to no, adversity with K at the helm...when he was hired, it was common practice to be patient..i'd like to see how patient duke fans would be if duke went to the nit, or had a couple losing seasons...i would say they would melt down just like heel fans did in 2010, and lose patience quite quickly...the most recent example of duke facing adversity resulted in Gaudet being banished from the "family", never to be seen again

Finally another pack fan that looks at the real picture and not with his head in the sand. We lose to duke it is time to fire Gottfried!

What did he turn around? His own ineptness?
because the program was fine when he got there.

i'm not saying can Gott, TB...i'm making valid observations that i cant fathom other people not being able to see...except for miami, NCSU has had more experience, on all fronts, than the teams they have lost to in the conference...the "younger" teams that State has lost to played more like experienced players, at crunch time, than the team with 4 returning starters from the sweet 16 team just last year...i'm tired of seeing the same mistakes, when it counts...and when the game is up for grabs, with time running out, none of the other stuff matters...you either have what it takes, or you dont..and the examples of not having what it takes are getting more frequent...i dont give up, and i expect State to sweep duke...but, i ask you, if State continues to choke at crunch time, and goes 0-2 this week, you will still be content with the way the season is going?..i never cared for a #6 ranking, and i havent expected an ncaa title this year, but i expect better than what i am seeing from this team..period
