Scott "Brick" Wood

Scott "Brick" Wood

You finally managed to make a big shot when it mattered. Good job. This team is not going anywhere, though, despite the preseason howls of the lunatic fringe. Anyone who watched this game should realize this. Same mistakes, problems, lapses... agree?

RE: Scott

Maybe they'll make the nit and then they can carpool with us. We can both save on gas that way.

GO HEELS!

Nah.... psychology plays a huge part in sports. That Woods three might be worth a hundred points by the time it's all said and done. We went to 7-7 in conference last year before we got our heads on straight.

Yep, I honestly am not too worried. Our team has lost some heartbreakers (in the losses to UMD, UVA, WF, and Miami, State lost by a TOTAL of 9 points), and the first half of the Duke game looked like a video game with the outrageous 3-point shooting. I think State is headed on a good trajectory at just the right time. Tyler Lewis has become a real contributor, Richard Howell is tough as nails, and our schedule is much easier for the remainder of the season. I think State will go into the ACC tourney playing much better as a team, and as we all know too well ANYTHING can happen in the big dance.

Glad State got the win. I think Gott believes Lewis has earned some playing time so we'll see some different set-ups and I'm sure those will take some to iron out.

RE: Scott "Brick" Wood

I haven't chimed in here in a while. But honestly...'Brick'? Just moved up another spot on the ALL-TIME list. One of the best 3 pt shooters and free throw shooters in the country both this year and for his career?

How about SUPPORT your team rather than bury them! This ain't Philly after all.

this is true, this shot could signal a reversal of fortune for the team..but(gulp) hans is right, also, as some of the same mindless mistakes are showing in late-game situations....CJ has to stop the weak one man show and pass the ball, he just might get it back for a slam!!..Howell is a good passer on the inside...on the positive, they won, and actually executed a fantastic play that got Wood the open 3, and Brown hit 2 clutch free throws with the game on the line(ft's have crushed State in close losses)...also, there were no dumb fouls at crunch-time, or other mishaps..maybe Wood will get more energized now, he had 6 rebounds in the game..it usually takes him two-three weeks to get that many

there's another team out there that wants to win too... it's not easy in ACC ball, the difference between winning and losing (particularly on the road) is often times rather miniscule (see- duke yesterday). State is a team that plays well when they play great pressure D and force turnovers.... as it allows them to get into their running game, which is as good as any in the country. They still lack a bit of movement in the half court sets, but Zo will get that ship righted, as he gets more comfortable being back. I'd much rather peak in Late March (vs early February), but staying healthy and picking up W's along the way will make the ride more enjoyable to witness.
