Did you read the entire press interview or do you like taking things out of context? He said that they played bad in the first half, but glad they didn't hang their heads and they gave themselves a shot at winning, which they did. He didn't say they played well yesterday. He also didn't say they would win the national championship or the ACC. He also hasn't said they're a great team. Bottom line is, they're improving because Gottfried is the coach.

.... and Coach Gott & his talented staff are recruiting pretty pretty pretty pretty pretty pretty well to boot, so I too see that this team is in a position to improve, improving in some areas are certain players, yes, certain players are learning to be unselfish and to play defense, I hope, and I hope this continues.

I will say that it's better to get up for the bigger games for sure, but it's way past time to stop diddling on the lower level of the lower competition, for it's really a matter of having respect, respect for your competition, respect for your own team, your teammates, and respect for yourself, to play at the level of your talent & abilities, unselfishly, if they do this then this team will soar through the ranks, back to the top!

Didn't bother to wade through the drivel in this thread but Hans, out of curiosity, what are your thoughts on the final play Gottfried called?

Hans, that is just about the most depressed fan reaction to a win. Since you claim to have studied biological psychology, you should be well aware of medications for the kind of mood disorder you suffer.

Ah, you Americans. Always running to big pharma to help solve your perceived problems. SpartanDude, it was the EFFORT shown by the team that disappointed me. It wasn't there. The body language said it all. I said it before and I'll say it again - anyone who was pleased by the way the team played is NOT a real fan.

Their responses, however, do not go unprovoked and are seemingly labeled as "the fringe" only because their views do not align with yours. Not every fan demands perfection out of their team in every game and they just take it one win at a time. I for one am not thrilled with the way we played however, as a true fan, the fact that we were still able to pull out a win while playing that badly on the road eclipses the hard feelings I have for their play. But entertaining and inciting "the fringe's" comments seems to be your obsession on here, so run with it if you must.

As for the play, I agree that it worked out pretty well. But specifically, what did you think of the play that was drawn up and the use of the timeout that preceded it?
