Yes she "accidentally" posted on the kerliner board. I'm sure anybody could make that mistake. I mean it's not like the logo, colors, board name, or description posted at the top of the board are different is it?

Poor Hans, I think if he is a Sports fan in general, then perhaps consider a sport where there is no emotional attachment required. Hmmmm.... Anyone got any ideas on that. Are there any sports out there where Hans can be a true fanatic and go full force into supporting a team in that sport? Surely there is a sport out there. Luge perhaps?

Ken, you must be from Philadelphia. I never saw anyone from the Duke fan base offer such support to someone supposedly on the NC State bandwagon. Then again it must be "brotherly love."

Actually, most universities do care. I'm sure you, as an alum, have received letters from your school asking you to give back to your alma mater.

We all "payed" our dues in our own manner, I suppose. I don't believe Hans attended any colleges in America. I'm sure he graduated from Gymnasium in Germany, based on his name.

  • blueduke4 Feb 12, 2013
    Sports Legend

Or maybe you should let him live as he sees fit, since this is America and all. He is an alum and has payed his dues, I can promise you the university does not care how he "pulls" for them. So why should the rest of you?

  • SpartanDude Feb 12, 2013
    Veteran

Ken, you pull for duke, that's clear. I pull for MSU. Hans, does not make it clear who he roots for. I question his fanhood when he so clearly only comments in the negative about the local state school. If negativity is all one can strive for when seeing the world, Hans lives in a sad state of affairs. He ought to look into some more positive things regarding how he relates to sports and the greater world around. Since he implied he studied biological psychology at NC State (btw, there's no major there in that subject although they do have Psych) he might consider looking into the ramifications of negative thought patterns on life outcomes.

  • blueduke4 Feb 12, 2013

Actually, the definition of Fanatic: A person filled with excessive and single-minded zeal. When applied to sports, that would mean this person has an optimism about the team they follow. If one does not have such zeal, then they are by definition, not a fan.

SpartanDude, you seem a little confused today. Are you hitting the sauce a little early (not that there's anything wrong with that)?

  • blueduke4 Feb 12, 2013
    Sports Legend

^I disagree. I have one friend in particular who ONLY looks for the negative in his team.(that team being Duke)Even if we went undefeated and won the Natty he would find SOMETHING that could be improved upon. Some people strive for and expect excellence, and there is nothing wrong with that. Furthermore, how is it possible to tell someone how they can and should pull for THEIR team? Especially if they attended said school and support it still. Fan is short for fanatic, and by my understanding a fanatic is not something that can be described in such simple black and white terms.

  • SpartanDude Feb 12, 2013

  • blueduke4 Feb 12, 2013

I will assume you are talking to me. I am a fan Ken Kaniff. I attended Duke and graduated in the year 2000. In response to the "I onlt talk about Hans", that was one day, yesterday, and it was mostly about his ability to not whine about conspiracies and refs like MOST of the state fans on this site. That is why I gave him credit. Im so glad that you get decide to his a real fan or not, ohh glorious one. What would we do without the commentary from the likes of Ken, I shutter to think. As to my amount of posts in few months, if you would have done your homework(I know asking alot) you would have seen 90% of them are in defense of MY school and its players and coaches. If you dont like that then gtfo old timer.

When it comes down to it, what difference does it make who hans claims to root for? Anybody here can make any claim they want, and pretend to be something they are not. While I think a majority of the individuals who post here are what they say they are, I also think that the vast majority of posts on this site are by a small minority of actual people who pretend to be something they are not.

There is even a poster on this thread with a join date of December 2012 who has over 1000 posts already. He purports to be a Duke fan, yet the majority of his posts seem to be for the purpose of asserting that hans is a State fan. If you believe he is what he says he is, you are too naive to be on the internet in the first place.

If the test of a true fan is to actually like and support your team, then hans is among a growing number of posters on this site who are just pretending. Deal with it.

There are folks here who are convinced Hans is not a State fan. He makes the claim to be both a fan and alum. The claims are not very strongly affirmed by anything he has said or offered in any posts. I honestly don't care if he actually attended NC State, I am just glad he didn't go to MSU. Look up the definition of the word "FAN" and you will conclude Hans is not anywhere near that definition when it comes to his claim to be a State fan.

As to any wisdom purportedly coming from his posts, I have not read any from him that were of any enlightening value.

Whew! I am so glad Hans is not a Spartan alum or fan! Jeez what a downer he is. He would be so down on Izzo and the state of Spartan sports. I would really feel sorry for any Wolfpack fans if they had to sit next to him during any wolfpack games. Although, based on all his downers of posts, I would really be surprised if he ever attended any basketball games during or after his so called college years.

Thanks Hans for not attending MSU.

Umm, I think I made it perfectly clear that I'm not looking up names of buildings. Do you have a comprehension problem? And while I am a proud NC State alum (unlike a few of the lunatic fringers), I can honestly say I've never stepped foot on the campus of a local "blue-tinged" school (unless Duke gardens is part of the campus - I went there once). I also applied to, and was accepted at, Michigan State.
