With Bobo's hands planted firmly on his hips and puffing out his chest he yells at me:

"Why not leave her and go to Shatzoos forum along with the other 4 folks and get to know them all better if you do not like it here....jocko!

My response was to turn, walk away and thank it for proving my point about the current sports forum.

I hadn't heard that, but I'm not all that confident. When WRAL allowed GOLO to deteriorate like this site, their solution was just to pull the plug completely, and without warning.

    We understand.

You were too busy parsing out each and every word of Roy Williams latest press conference to even notce.

Try and focus...you can order Roy's post-game comments directly from the UNC A-Ds office via email, might make it easier to parse for your archives later.

    Ken D.

Off topic, but have you heard anything about WRAL shifting to a new improved
all sports talk forum and leaving the current sports forum model specifically
as a baby sitting tool for the unruly trolls?

I wondered how long it would take before hans' alterego showed up. If blueduke4 would show his face now we would have the unholy trinity. :)

I am getting so tired of our wolfpack teams having far more talent than opponenets and yet we continue to lose.

Examples = Football, Dream Team Basketball, now Baseball

We need to fire Yow and the other old coaches and start all over!

Yeah but it seems the teams that have all those 5th and 6th year seniors win the CWS. Man Stength, can substitute for it, and it's illegal to aquire it sooner than the old Glands will let you.

One other thing on my point with Avent, I thought he let him go WAY too deep in games. I'm just wondering if the young arm has picked up some excessive wear and tear. We will see, he was one heck of a talent last year, and should be this year.

You may be right about that, Smitty. UNC may have the best staff in the ACC/college baseball. Anything can happen on the diamond. With the bats they're using these days, it's probably a better bet to go with strong pitching, great D, & more of a small ball approach.

Even you must realize that one can't read anything substantive from a single 6-3 loss on opening day in a sport with 56 scheduled games + likely additional tournament games. No baseball-knowledgable person could rationally extrapolate thus.

Yeah, I was really surprised he got touched for that. Lack of focus, not ready to play, who knows. His slider was devastating last year but he threw quite a bit. I thought Avent might have pitched him a bit much for his age IMHTHO.

Relax, it's a long season. I know in basketball, some schools get thumped by 30 or so in Maui but are able to salvage an NIT bid by late February...

    Hans:

Disappointed with that game today, but one game is certainly not a reliable indicator of how a season will end up. Forget about preseason hype. It's just
    speculation. Nothing more, nothing less.

Personally, I'm looking forward to watching this team play, and hopefully watch them get into some post season play. Lot of games left to play.

If I didn't care about NC State baseball I would not be buying season tickets, nor would all those other folks who purchased season, as well as individual tickets. You're suppose to be a fan, right? Did you care enough to purchase any tickets, yet?

That's not how it works. I'm happy for State, and I'll probably throw it in some faces. But I don't give a care about baseball. I don't watch the games. It's too boring.

But of course I'll talk smack when State does well. Isn't that what it's about?

You won't catch me pretending to be a baseball fan, though.

Good luck to your Holes. They'll be good this year, too, probably.

I'll bet you'll be caring quite a bunch should State do well. As a matter of fact, I think I recall that from last year when State went to a Super Regional. Funny how that works, yes?

    Ouch!

State is already eliminated from the postseason after one game. How awful!

I only care in the sense that State lost, but I care not one iota about the sport of baseball. It's one of the few sports in which some of the participants can actually take a nap (during the game) and possibly not have an impact on the game.

Sounds like State took a nap today.
