He's really getting embarrassing. First his hard hitting analytical skills and now apparently he's made significant contributions to the unc investigation. I really feel sorry for his dumazz kids having to deal with a guy like that. Odds are favorable that one of them will OD to escape that nightmare.

    Um, two different opponents.

State has a lot of ACC bottom-feeders left. Carolina has a tougher way.

I do think we'll both be in the dance. But State has an easier path to the end of the season than Carolina does. Just look at our remaining opponents. I did an analysis of this last week and don't care to re-do it again now.

Hey, if you're impressed with UNC beating a team at home that's currently on the bubble, more power to ya. I'd expect to do that if I was preseason #11.

Either way, UNC still lacks signature wins.

That is not how rpi works. It is a cold mathematical calculation, which gives no weight whatsoeved to rankings.

Actually, UNC is 16-8, not 17-8.... the ncaa selection committee does not count the "win" over Chaminade High School.

If scoring 93 on Virginia is so easy, how come no one else has scored more than 69?

It will be interesting to see what Dook does against them on 2-28 at Cameron.

RPI does lie. Dook is shown to be #1 in RPI as they are shown as having 3 wins over top 5 teams.

Of those 3, one is no longer ranked, one is ranked 18th and one 10th.

UNC is definitely not in yet. Beating UVA at home is what they are supposed to do, it did not boost their resume.

no Carolina dismantling UVA's top rated defense and State having to go to OT against a bottom feeder in the ACC that is what the article is based on ...but you will spin cuz it is what you do.

I do agree there is a lot of bball left - we will see who laughs last

What, State with 18 wins, and Carolina with 17 wins?

And both having survived in OT in their last game against the Hokies?

There are similarities. But Carolina has the tougher road between now and the end of the season.

Btw, nutz... have you checked our remaining schedules?

State has the MUCH easier schedule.

But honestly, I think we're both safely in the dance. Carolina probably secured their bid with the Virginia win. And State was already in, assuming they don't do something stupid like lose the rest of our games.

Carolina survived against VT in overtime, as well, if you recall.

And by all rights, State was in a position to win in regulation with 93-95% certainty (up three with 5 seconds left, and VT on the line for a 1-and-1). They made a great play, and had to commit (an uncalled) lane violation to pull it off.

But that's OK. It made it exciting and should help tough us up to win a game like that. We could have hung our heads low and lost in overtime, but we didn't. I say that win built character.

And thanks for continuing to notice! You and Hans are some good Carolina fans that always take notice of your non-rivals in Raleigh. We thank you for your support! :)
